You and Jungkook stand at the tippy tip of the spaceship. Beside you, Yoongi and Hoseok had already begun to discuss the engine of the ship. The conversation sounded dull yet the were both speaking oddly brightly about it, perhaps because it was a topic they both enjoyed.
You look over your shoulder at a busy Jin as he sorted the heavy tools around the place. You couldn't see the others but you assumed they were busy as well.
You turn back to Namjoon and look down at the blueprint he had forced into your hands.
"So?" Jungkook was asking, seeming somehow surprisingly ready for a task that involved knowledge that was far from his interests. You give him an envious look knowing that probably no matter how scientifically challenged he was, Jungkook would find a golden way to do it and do it well on top of that.
"I don't think you guys are going to like this much," Namjoon admits a little uncertain. He gives you the sort of look a parent would give a child before entrusting something valuable to them.
You place your hands on your hips putting on a grim expression. "I'm tough Namjoon. Don't underestimate me. I can do it."
You hold up the blueprint. "Why did you give me this?"
He purses his lips, hesitating for the last time.
"I need you guys to go down." He says finally. "In there. It's good for two people to scour around first. Take photos and notes so we can analyse them later. I know that..." he rubs the back of his head sheepishly as he sees your incredulous photos. "That it's a little dark in there and there's no light, it's cramped and perhaps claustrophobic bu-"
"Dark? Cramped?" you sputter, unable to believe what you're hearing. "It's the inside of a spaceship Joon! What if there's...something else in there?"
"What would there be?" Namjoon wants to know.
"What wouldn't there be?" you challenge him. "If you can find dog-size ants, lion-looking dogs and develop strange abilities on this planet what keeps me safe from whatever is inside that spaceship?"
"I do." Jungkook speaks suddenly. You turn, almost having forgotten that he was there. He leans against one side of the door turning to look at you. You look back at him momentarily, clutching the blueprint more firmly, stuck for response.
"Exactly," Namjoon continues, pleased with how this was turning out without any of his own interpretation. "I know you guys can do this together. Y/N you have the blueprint, just check if you can figure out something from the drawing and what you see. If it's connected somehow. If you need any manual help...you've got Jungkook. Plus, we really need to figure out what we're dealing with here. Please?"
You curse Namjoon's intelligence once again before shrugging off your disturbed expression, replacing it with a careless smile. "Whatever," you shrug acting like you don't really mind. And you shouldn't. It was alright. You had to do this and in fact, exploration of some god-knows-how old spaceship could be pretty interesting. As long as it didn't collapse onto your head. And you didn't get lost or stuck in there.
With Jungkook.
This idea wasn't too pleasing but you'd vowed to Namjoon that you were tough. You knew nothing about architecture or engineering for the fact, but you could read and your mind worked fast. According to Namjoon that was enough. You didn't want to be the weak girl who was always pampered around by the guys. Women were strong too and you were going to show them that. You were as man as any of them. You could hoist yourself down there with a torchlight and figure this all out Jungkook or no Jungkook. He was only there for company anyhow. Furthermore, you were going to prove that Team Kim Seokjin wasn't always a winner, specially since you wanted to get back at Namjoon for stealing Jin for himself.
