It wasn't a sound that woke you. No, it was the intense cold piercing through your skin like daggers. It felt like the ice age and the great urge to sneeze overcame your entire your body. Your lungs rack with the intensity as you breathe quicker to warm yourself, eyes squinting as you squirm in your discomfort. Oh how you would crave for some warm cinnamon milk at the moment.
But when you open your eyes, the lush dark forest all around you provides no such facility. Instead, it seems dark all about you, the shadows of the glowing fire dancing on tree trunks and leafy canopies. You assume you must have looked a little frightened because a voice immediately reaches out to you.
"Don't worry. I'm awake too."
Your eyes open a little more as you search in the dim light for the owner of the voice. No doubt, the honey voiced man stares back at you as he make out his rock like features. Of course, it was always him. Coincidence no longer clashed between your decisions. It had to be something else. Fate? Destiny? Or just the eager forces of some super villain wanting to create some Hunger Games sort of love scenario between the both of you. You can't help thinking again how you wished you had another female to share your thoughts with, or to relate to. Was there a reason you were the only one?
"Y/N," he says your voice out loud pulling you out of your thoughts. You realize you are staring at him while spacing out so look away as you sit up a little more. He gestures to you to come closer to the fire. You agree at once, your previous shivering returning as you start to notice it. You scooch closer as he urges the embers to spark. This way, you are not only provided with more warmth but more light. You are able to make out his face, looking so innocent and soft in the low light. He looks into the fire, flames dancing in his eyes, golden lighting stroking the side of his face. He was really...the golden maknae.
"Y/N," he repeats your name again, suddenly flicking his eyes up to meet yours. The sudden eye contact takes off guard but you are unable to look away in embarassment, caught in the beauty of those irises. It's like you were seeing the entire universe in them.
"Say something."
You blink indifferently before looking back at the fire. "What do you want me to say?"
He pauses a little, letting the silence wash over the both of you, as he lets you acknowledge what you just said. However, being a little groggy from the sleep you don't have the brain to question your own answers. Hugging your knees by the fire, you're focused on getting warmed up.
"If I told you, would you say it?"
The seriousness in his tone, makes you raise your head a little. You notice he's wearing a shirt among other things as your eyes move over his figure. Unconsciously you begin to stare again making him uncomfortable with your silence. He gets up suddenly, replacing your previous line of sight, his face, with strong calf muscles. Stretching a little, he moves away, perhaps detaching himself before he gets too carried away. You didn't know it but somehow you directly feel the action of him standing and walking away.
"Kook, where are you going?"
He continues walking, causing you sit up a bit more alert and concerned. You look about you for backup, but the six others lie strewn about like dead bodies. Jin remains in the same position, Namjoon is softly snoring through the cold. You see Taehyung had wrapped himself around Jimin like monkey. On the other hand Yoongi is sleeping with his body sitting up but head lolled forward. Hoseok uses his shirt as pillow as he lies on his hand, hand over his own body perhaps to shield himself from the cold or due to his own sleeping habit. Looking at the sky, the stars blink out, however, tree leaves and branches cover the stunning night sky. You approximate that it's a little past midnight and turn your head back to Jungkook. You wonder how long he has been awake.
