As the morning wore on and the streets grew busier, more and more people begin to arrive at the nostalgic scene. However, from where you were sitting on the front steps between Taehyung and Namjoon you soon realized they weren't family or friends. They weren't here to see everyone either, no they had begun to crowd because of one man only.
"Actor Kim? No way...it can't be him!"
"He's back? But he disappeared?"
"I can't believe this!"
It was the Jin cult. An ever increasing group of fans that threatened to break Jin's beautiful familial reunion. They pushed closer to look at him, whipped out their phones and mostly just stared in awe and shock to see a celebrity resurface after so long. You supposed it would be annoying for Jin and were beginning to pity him when you soon realised your mistake.
For he was part of it too. He idolised himself just as much as they idolize him.
You can't help but grin at the sight. However as the crowd becomes a little too overwhelming for Jin and his adamant sons who were curious to know what their father had been up to, Jin finds himself caught in a trap. Dragging an unaware Namjoon in front of him as a shield he begs him to act a bodyguard and protect him from the mass of people. After all, Jin was only used to a planet composed of eight people including himself.
You scan the area once again, the sight of families reuniting making you soft again. It was endearing to see the tears in Jimin's eyes and the horrifying concern in the eyes of parents to see how thin their children had become. Despite being a heartwarming start to the day, you couldn't help feeling a little sad too. That feeling of loneliness and of being unloved began to consume you once more, now that Namjoon was not by your side but mingling with the people of his memories.
It felt again that veryone seemed to have something to return to and it was like you...had no one.
Just then an arm snakes around your shoulders. Instead of hanging loosely, it pulls you gently towards the owner of the arm. You already know who it. Only he knew how sad you were amidst the return, the happiness.
I have no one?
For once you don't push him away. You let him comfort you, let him hold you close beside him despite whatever his intentions and soak in the embrace of someone else. Without looking at his face you could almost pretend like he was someone else, like he was a friend who remembered you all these years past.
What's wrong?
I'm jealous of you, you think unconsciously and then suddenly feel a little embarrassed at that. It made you look a little selfish but you couldn't help feeling left out. When he doesn't say anything, you're somewhat thankful. His silence much appreciated, the both of you sit together. You realise you'd never really sat this close to Jungkook, not to mention let him hold you close to him, throw his arm around your shoulder. On the other hand it was quite normal for the other guys to do. It must have been hard for him to be singled out especially when he was the one who longed for this the most. And in some way, if you didn't think too much about it, it was kind of nice and ordinary.
As you think that, your eyes land on Yoongi and his bride who, amidst the tears are now inseparable. Blind to the fact that they were being watched, they embrace each other warmly, talking incessantly.
"Wow, " Jungkook murmurs out loud, before the invoice comes in.
They make me feel so single.
You small smile travels your face as you can already see where he's going.
I know right, you answer subtly.
