i like you [DAY6 x TWICE]

chapter 6

Brian was already getting emotional just standing that close to his girlfriend because it hadn't happened in a long time.

"We can both tell there's something wrong... I mean we barely talk these days." He started and then he moved closer, so that he was standing right in front of her. "I miss you." He took her hand in his and caressed it with his thumb. "Like I can't remember the last time we were like this."

She pulled her hand away and folded her arms.

"Why don't you ever call?" She asked sternly yet calmly.

"You never call either. I assumed you wanted some space."

"I would've asked for space then." She barely made the words audible.

"A-Are you mad?" He moved forward and held her face. "I'm sorry."

"It's not you... it's just, there's something wrong with us  and I feel it but I don't know what it is. For once I got mad when Nayeon made fun of our relationship today and it hurt so bad. I don't even know why."

Brian didn't say a word because he couldn't deny he was hurting too. His mind drifted back to when Jae said his relationship was dead, and every other time people had made degrading comments about their relationship.

He pulled her into a hug and patted her hair. "Well whatever the problem is, we can fix it."

"Can we really?"

"Mhmmm." He placed his chin on her head and closed his eyes to push back the tears that wanted to fall.

I love you. Jeongyeon said in her head because she couldn't bring herself to spell out the words.

You know I still love you more than you do. Brian also said mentally as if he heard her and then placed his lips on the crown of her head.

They hugged silently as if everything was going to be fine just because they said so. There was definitely something different and wrong but it was better to ignore it.

Or at least they thought it was.

Wonpil went along with Nayeon and Mina, leaving sungjin and Jihyo.

"We're both late." Sungjin said and chuckled.

"Who did you bring with you ?"

"Young K. And I'm guessing you brought Jeongyeon ?"

"Mhmm."

"Well that's what we get for bringing a couple."

"I know," She also chuckled and it got silent. "Let's just go in."

"Mmm." He bit on his lips nervously.

The script reading began and the director started off by addressing the actors.

"Today, we're focusing on emotions. So as much as you can, make eye contact with the person you're interacting with don't just read off the script. Ok let's start from where we left off."

In the other meeting room, Jinyoung had already arrived and he smiled at Wonpil. When the script reading began, Wonpil and Mina were told to sit in the back. They sat right next to each other and Wonpil eventually dozed off.

He placed his head on her shoulder but she didn't wake him up.

Jae's eyes landed on the door when he heard the sound of the door pin being punched in.

"What are you doing?" Jamie walked into the living room of the apartment, taking off her shoes.

"How'd you get in here?" Jae who was laying down on the sofa, stood up to welcome her.

"I have the passcode from last time..."

They both looked away shyly when she said that then Jae cleared his throat. "Anyway, I'm lonely."

"You want a hug?" She opened her arms and he nodded and dropped his tall body into her arms.

Narrator: "...He walks up to her and offers a hand. When they get to the field with no other students, she finally looks up at his face."

Sungjin: "You can cry if you want to. I'll just erase it from my mind."

Jihyo: "Why are you so nice to me?"

Narrator: "He realizes he hadn't let go of her hand, so he uses the opportunity to lock their fingers and take a step closer. They make eye contact."

The last line was Sungjin's but his face turned red as he looked up at Jihyo's face like he was supposed to.

Sungjin: "B-Because I like you."

His acting made everyone's eyes go to him. The director smiled. "Woah that's the emotion I need right there, that sounded so sincere."

Sungjin smiled and bowed slightly. He glanced over at Jihyo and to avoid his eyes, she took a sip of water from the bottle in front of her.

"Someone would think you actually have feelings for her."

Sungjin started coughing at the director's statement and Jihyo spat out the water in her mouth.

"That can't happen." They both said at the same time, making the situation even more awkward.
