chapter 36

The next morning, everyone woke up anticipating to question each other about the previous night.

Sungjin had returned to day6 apartment with a stiff face. He didn't talk to anyone and no one wanted to bother him.

Brian stayed mute till he fell asleep on the sofa in the living room.

The three other members tried to hide their excitement. Jae for his upcoming first date. Wonpil for his new confusing relationship. And Dowoon for hanging out with Chaeyoung.

"Good morning."

Sungjin wasn't expecting a response so he wasn't bothered when Brian just pulled himself off the sofa and walked to the bathroom without greeting back.

Jae was headed for the bathroom as well and he bumped into the half-asleep bassist. "Hi." He swept through his hair with his fingers. "Are you willing to tell me what's wrong now?"

Brian had the courtesy to shake his head this time.

"Alright you can go in first, I'll wait." The older one conceded and walked away.

Brian brushed his teeth with an emotionless face but suddenly, tears started falling. He washed his face so that the water would camouflage it.

When he was out, Jae hurried in to shower and get ready.

Sungjin called in sick and got an earful from the filming director. Dowoon also wanted to ditch class and spend the day with Chaeyoung but she didn't pick up the six times he called.

Wonpil planned to go to JYP ent to coincidentally run into Mina.

Jae and Jimin tried to make most out of their first date. Now, they were seated in his car holding hands.

"You can just drop me off at JYP." She insisted when he offered to take her home. "I need to do something before the end of today."

"Sure." He drove over there and got out of the car with her.

"You're coming along?"

"Why not? I don't mind being with you all day."

Jamie smiled nervously as she looked around. The last thing she wanted was to bump into anyone who knew she was leaving the agency. She needed to personally tell Jae first.

"You don't want me to?" Jae asked standing in front of her. He pushed her side bangs away from her eyes. "Let's go." He grabbed her hand and they walked towards the entrance.

Everyone knew they were close so holding hands wasn't a big deal.  Jae was using that to his advantage.

Jamie was getting more and more anxious the more steps they took. They were approaching the elevator when she pulled her hand away.

Jae stopped moving and looked at her. "What's wrong?"

"I need to tell you something." She sounded ominous.

"Mhmm. Tell me." Jae was becoming uneasy as she hesistated. "Come on. What is it?" He chuckled nervously.

"I need a moment." She said and walked to the rest room on the same floor. She looked in the mirror and took a couple of deep breaths.

"Jae?"

The tall guitarist turned to see who called him. It was JYP. He bowed politely.

"You never confirmed you received the keys."

"Oh right. I did. Thank you thank you." Jae said and bowed multiple times.

"I didn't know Day6 was gonna be here today."
