chapter 7

When dowoon and Chaeyoung walked into their classroom, IU was already seated waiting for them.
There were other people in the class as well so the two took the only two seats left in the front.

"you're late." IU blurted out.

"Barely.."Chaeyoung responded.

"I told you guys to come early today so that we can go over your homework before you present it to the class." IU continued, "Dowoon what's your excuse??"

The drummer dropped his head and his ears turned red. He tried to speak but he kept choking on his words.

"Are you ok??!" IU panicked and moved closer. She stretched her hand to touch his forehead.

Immediately she did that, he blushed and started to shake. "I'm- I'm go-good" he stuttered until she moved back to the front.

Chaeyoung looked at Dowoon who was now overly smiling and then at IU, then she looked back at dowoon. A rush of disappointment filled her but she covered up with a smile.

"Ok who wants to go first?"

Chaeyoung raised her hand and stood up. Dowoon held her hand to stop her from moving. "Let me have your phone, I'll help you play the recording once you're ready."

She smiled and handed it to him.

When she was done with her presentation, dowoon's clap was the loudest and he stroked her hair when she sat down back. "That was really good." He said smiling. Then he turned to IU, "I'll go next." He handed his phone to Chaeyoung and told her the passcode so she could also play his recording for him.

"Maybe we should go down now?" Jeongyeon lifted her head from Brian's body.

"Su-sure." He took a step back, then he held her chin, staring into her eyes. Her heart was racing and so was his. "How can you look so beautiful even when you cry..."

"You look more beautiful than me." She said and tiptoed to kiss his forehead.

"Why not my lips."

Instead of answering, she kissed his right cheek, then his left cheek.

"Aw come on..." Brian was sulking, which made her chuckle.

"You're such a baby." She said.

"Your baby." He replied and there was awkward silence for a second before they both burst out laughing.

"That's so cheesy what the heck don't ever say that."

"Speaking of cheesy, I saw a love letter today."

"People still write those??"

"Dowoonie."

She placed her hand on her forehead, "of course."

"I should find out if he succeeded in giving it to the person.." Brian said taking out his phone. He texted dowoon.

Did you give her the love letter yet?

A message came in for dowoon and Chaeyoung looked at it.

Dowoon messed up his performance and most people in the class snorted. When he sat down back, Chaeyoung returned his phone.

"It's ok." She said to comfort him.

Once class was over, IU walked over to dowoon. "What happened up there?"

Chaeyoung felt it was right to leave the room so that dowoon wouldn't feel any more embarrassed. As she got to the door, he called her name.

"Can you wait for me outside?"

She nodded and left.

When he was done talking to IU, he ran out to find Chaeyoung. He spotted her on the stairs.

"That ended faster than I expected." She said.

"Well she didn't say much," he answered, going up one step to sit beside her. "I feel so embarrassed.."

"It's ok, you sounded much better this time." She turned his face and pulled both cheeks with her hands.

"You're just saying that for me to feel better." He pouted.

When he did that Chaeyoung's eyes went over to his lips.

"What are you doing-"

"Oh." She let go of his cheeks and cleared her throat. "Sorry."

Dowoon leaned in to her, making her lean backwards. "Do you find me that attractive."

Even though he asked as a joke, Chaeyoung started coughing and looked away. "Oh you had a message when you were presenting."

Dowoon looked at his phone. "Maybe I'll just give it another time." He mumbled to himself, then he looked up and met Chaeyoung's gaze. "Chaeyoung..." he took out the letter and handed it to her.

"What's this?" She sounded flustered and her mind went back to the text message. She took it from his hand.

"Do you mind reading this?"

"Sure," She proceeded to open it full of excitement but the first word got rid of that excitement.

It said IU noona.

"Tell me if there's anything I need to change." Dowoon continued, "I figured this is the best way to tell her my feelings."

"You're so mean." Chaeyoung shoved the paper in his face and walked away.
