chapter 26

Two weeks went by in the same manner and no one was still getting along.

JYP thought it would be wise for them to start preparing or planning for a comeback since they had been inactive for a long time.

He called for a meeting.

Dowoon had to skip class and Sungjin wasn't filming until later in the day so it worked fine with their schedules.

A manager came to pick them up and they arrived at JYP ent.

They hopped out of their van and walked straight to JYP's office.

"Ok first agenda, comeback. Second, manager. Third, Jae's car."

They all discussed what and when would be best for a comeback that would work around Sungjin's filming schedule. Then they concluded that subject.

"Next. Manager. If you guys are going to be active we definitely need a full time one."

"We don't mind," Sungjin said. "We just thought you still haven't found any."

"I stopped searching because you guys didn't exactly need one, but there are a lot of options this time. Any objections or suggestions?"

"No females this time. Please." Jae said. Thinking about Arin gave him the chills.

"Oh that reminds me, I thought I saw Arin a few days ago. Have you heard from her since she quit?"

They all shook their heads.

"She said she was leaving for LA and that was the last conversation we had." Jae added. Even though he had talked about sending messages sometimes he didn't because he thought it'd be best not to.

"Ok. Jae's car." JYP continued. "Basically it wasn't fixed right after the last accident so that's why it stopped moving. We can get a new car or try to fix it again??"

"Whichever is cheaper."

"Alrighty that's it. Except anyone had anything to add??"

"I'll start working on the songs." Brian said as they stood up to leave.

They walked out of his office. Everyone had an upset look on their face, except Brian and Wonpil.

Jae was triggered by Arin and the accident talk. Sungjin didn't know if Jihyo had to film or if she was at the agency building. Dowoon saw it as an opportunity to find Chaeyoung and explain things to her but the thought of it made him anxious.

They all walked to the elevator to take it down and as the doors opened, Twice was about to walk out of it.

How convenient.

Jihyo wasn't with them but Chaeyoung was. Dowoon abruptly turned around and ran to take the stairs instead.

Jeongyeon and Brian held hands quickly as they walked past each other.

"Why did he leave?" Jae asked when the doors shut.

"If you mean Dowoon..." Brian started but shrugged at the end.

Wonpil was caught off guard by himself when he realized he had unconsciously looked for Mina with his eyes among the girls. He laughed quietly at how ridiculous it was. What he was thinking was definitely not possible. He could never be interested in anyone. Not even her. He was confident it was so not possible.

They walked out and went to their practice room. Dowoon was freestyling on the drums already. He didn't even realize they had walked in.

"Something's definitely wrong." Jae said and shook his head.

Brian walked to Dowoon and placed his hand on his shoulder.

"Running away won't help you." He said to the maknae who dropped his head in despair.

"She stopped coming to class." He muttered.

Brian pulled a chair and sat beside him. "Why are you bothered by that?"

"I don't know. I was happy I got to see her everyday but now she doesn't even come to class anymore."

Brian stroked his hair gently. "Why were you happy to see her?"

"She just made me feel good."

"Why do you think so?"

"We're good friends."

Brian smiled. "So why are you avoiding your good friend?"

"Because I did something unforgivable."

"Which is?"

"I opened her shirt and used a towel to wipe the tea that had spilled on her. Before that, I had also accidentally touched her.. chest."

"Did you apologize?"

"I did but I don't think she likes me anymore."

"Did she tell you she likes you before?"

"Multiple times but I pretended not to understand because I didn't know how to behave or if she even meant it."

Brian facepalmed himself. "You said you like IU, right? How would you feel if you told her you liked her but she pretended not to understand but she always wanted to be around you?"

"Frustrated."

"Exactly. What if she pulled down your pants to wipe it clean with a towel because something spilled on you?"

Dowoon was quiet because he now understood the severity of what he had done.

"Let's go." Brian pulled him along with him. "You basically used Chaeyoung's feelings to make yourself feel good otherwise you also like-" He stopped talking because he didn't want his words to have an impact on Dowoon.

If Dowoon really liked her, he would find out on his own.

"Where are we going?" Dowoon asked.

"To find Chaeyoung."

"No." The maknae stopped moving. "She's really angry."

Brian also stopped moving. "I'm not going to force you to do anything you don't want to but I'm just gonna tell you, you're wrong."

"I know." Dowoon said and sighed. "I made it worse by not telling her how I really felt that day."

"Huh?"

"She asked if I was okay after doing what I did but I wasn't. My heart was about to explode."

Brian just let there be a moment of silence for Dowoon to make up his mind on what he wanted to do. Without speaking, the maknae dashed across the hallway to find Chaeyoung.
