Chapter 26

I slowly put on my red lipstick and I'm done!

"Mommy!" Sigaw ni Anna. Nilingon ko ito. Pumasok sya sa kwarto ko.

"What is it, Anna?" I asked.

"Papa Nathan's here.." she whispered. Mukhang ayaw iparinig kay Theon.

I smiled and kiss her on the cheeks. "Alright. Be good here, ha? Sleep na kayo. Your mom's going to go home late so don't wait for me na, okay?"

She pouted. "Okay, mom."

I pat her head. "Sleep tight, honey. Mommy loves you."

After that, I went downstairs to see Theon and Dristan watching with Kira.

"Kira, I'm going," I said.

"Mom, late ka uuwi?" Theon asked.

"Yes, baby boy," I smirked. He frowned.

"I'm not a baby anymore," he shrugged.

Tumawa na lamang ako nang mahina. When I went out of the house, I saw Nathan leaning on his car. Hindi man lang pinapasok ni Kira? Bias nanaman ata yon, eh.

"Why hindi ka pumasok?" I asked him, smiling. He was just there, staring at me.

"Nathan?" I asked and waved my hand at him.

"U-uhm. Hindi na. Aalis din naman tayo, eh," he stuttered.

"So let's go?" Sambit ko at ngumiti ako sa kanya.

"Sure.." he said. He opened the car door for me in the passenger seat. What a gentleman.

"Thank you," I said. Pumasok na ako at umikot naman siya sa driver's seat.

"Mae?" Nilingon ko siya.

"Yes?" I said, looking confused. Ang seryoso niya kasi na ewan.

"You look so hella gorgeous tonight," He said. Feeling ko parang umakyat lahat ng dugo sa mukha ko. Buti nalang madilim at hindi niya napapansin na nagmumukha na akong kamatis sa compliment niya.

I grinned at him. "You don't look bad yourself," I shrugged.

Nang nakarating na kami sa party ay halos puno ng media ito. I'm not fan of paparazzis but I'm quite used to them since my husband, ex husband, rather, is a business tycoon and oh his looks. Nakakalaglag panty kaya no wonder.

Wait, bakit ba siya nanaman pumasok sa isipan ko?

I smiled and posed like some models or actresses would do when they're in the red carpet. Puro mayayaman ang nandito ngayon. The ladies all look stunning in their gowns! It's like a party where sa tingin ng ibang teens eh parang prom but it's not. Hindi naman bonggahang gown suot nila. Pero wala ring mga nakapants lang, ganoon.

I scanned the whole room and looked around as if I'm finding something.. or someone. Oh baka naman hindi siya invited? Wait! Bakit ko nga ba siya hinahanap? Get a hold of yourself, Penny! Sinaktan ka non.. bakit mo pa hinahanap?

Pero imposibleng hindi siya invited? He's like one of the most rich businessmen in the Philippines. And successful. I am the witness of his success and failures that's why I know– I'm thinking about him again!

As we sat down, Nathan was busy with a lot of people. Napapansin ko ring may isa siyang babaeng sinusulyap, sulyapan. The girl was so pretty. She looks familiar. She looks like a model.. Oh, she's the pride of the Frenti's Beau! (parang Victoria's Secret) Heard she is the heir but also their model. Nakakatibo yung ganda niya. Parang si Alessandra Ambrosio ng Victoria's Secret, ganoon.

Habang pinagmamasdan ko iyong babae na yun, napansin kong lumapit siya sa isang lalaki. Wait.. the guy really looked familiar.. Is that my ex husband? Matt? O namamalikmata lang ako?

I looked away then turned my head again to their place and still saw him. Damn, malala na to. Pero yun nga, posibleng andito siya. At bakit lumapit sa kanya si babaeng mukhang Alessandra Ambrosio? Ugh, binabawi ko na yung sinabi kong maganda siya! Kamukha niya si Kiray!

"Oh bakit parang di maipinta yang mukha mo?" Nathan chuckled.

"H-huh? Ano, wala.. Nagugutom lang ako," I reasoned out.

"Ahh, okay. Sabi mo eh," He laughed na para bang alam niya ang dahilan.

Inirapan ko lamang ito. Talagang naiinis na ako. Ewan ko ba bakit ganoon yung epekto niya sa akin! Bahala siya sa buhay niya!

Nang nagsimula na ang party at tapos na ang speech ni Mr. Tan, they're serving the appetizers kanina while nagspispeech si Mr. Tan and now the main course! Walang magdadiet, I wanna eat. Sayang yung food. This is what you call, stress eating. Nakakastress yang Matt na yan!

"Hey, minumurder mo ulit yung steak," Nathan remarked.

I glanced at my plate. "Ay..sorry." Nakakahiya! Baka isipin nang ibang nasa table namin eh wala akong manners!

Umalis naman saglit si Nathan para magcr at may kukunin din daw siya sa kotse niya.

"Hey, you're the daughter of Mr. Calter, am I right? Yung may-ari ng Calter Airlines?" A man asked. Probably my age. A goodlooking one who wanna try to start a conversation.

"Ah, yes, why?" I asked. I am not involved with Dad's business. It was passed to Matt kasi he's my husband. Now that, he's my ex husband.. wait oo nga? bakit hindi pa rin si Dad ang fully nagaasikaso noon eh hiwalay na kami?

"Heard na lumalago pa lalo ang Airlines niyo ah, magaling ang partnership niyo ng Anderson. Your father is one of my business friends more like my mentor in business and I've heard he's glad that Mr. Matthew Anderson did a good job. But I'm wondering, why are you not with your husband right now? Instead, you're with Mr. Nathan Villego? Why is that? Are you separated?" He asked. Ang dami naman niyang tanong. I didn't expect na may ganitong komprontasyong mangyayari. Hindi ba kumalat ang tungkol sa ginawa ni Matt? Wow, money can manipulate people anyway.

"U-uhm.." I stuttered. Hindi ko alam paano ko ieexplain, eh. I was startled when an arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer.

"Actually, Mr. Guevarra, she's with me. Nathan's her friend. I asked Mr. Villego to escort her since I was going to be late due to paperworks. I know I've should fetch her and go here but Mr. Villego was pleasured to do so since they're really best of friends and I shouldn't be prohibiting my wife to be with her best friend.." Matt said and I stared at him, jaw-dropped.
