I'm a EMT, and in my line of work I see a lot of really disturbing things. I'll try and mix some of my creepy job encounters along with, my usual paranormal daily uploads. Here's the story.
We have our frequent flyers in this job. Those are the ones who call 911 day in and day out for small or inappropriate reasons. This particular lady was one I ran on for years, before her death in 2018. She was a middle aged lady with a severe behavioral & mental disorder. As long as she was on her medication, she was as normal as she could be. However most of the time she was not doing as she should, and stayed in and out of BMU's in our area. She came down with cancer on top of everything else and was finally placed on hospice care. Hospice is like home health, only it aids in the dying process. They come and make sure the patient is as comfortable as they can be in their last days. One night in particular we get the call, it's the address we know by heart. We arrive to hear the screaming of the lady, it was unlike anything Iv ever heard. We arrive to find her lying in bed, her eyes fixed to a corner of the room we were in. She was immobilized from her dilapidated state. All she could do was scream. The nursing agency was there, and stated as she turned the light off to leave the room to allow her to get some sleep she had a complete come apart. She was screaming the dark man was in the corner of the room, and he was coming to claim her. She was screaming for us to keep the lights on. Seeing as how there was no real emergency, the family decided it would be best to leave her in the comfort of her home. The nurse made sure she was given her medications, and urged the family to leave the light on if that was what she wanted. We packed our things and left. It wasn't a few hours later, we got called back this time for a unresponsive patient. We arrived again to find the lady deceased, we did what we usually do with hospice patients. We attached them to the cardiac monitor to evaluate them to see if they are in fact dead. When there was no electrical activity whatsoever from her heart we printed off the EKG showing the flat line as visual proof for the coroner. She was a DNR or do not resuscitate anyway as most hospice patients are. With all that being said the family said up until her death she was screaming that her legs were on fire. I don't know exactly how to feel about that, I hope she wasn't experiencing the fires of hell as she passed on. It was one of the creepiest, and darkest scenes Iv experienced this far.
