I was too tired to get haunted

This happened a couple of days ago. I woke up in the middle of the night and could hear - what sounded like - dishes being moved around in our kitchen downstairs. Like plates being put into the cupboard, cutlery into the drawer . . . . My wife and I tend to wake up at odd times through-out the night so I thought maybe she went down to the kitchen to grab a glass of water? Maybe she's putting plates away randomly, at 2am?

I'm half asleep and not fully coherent. I drowsily pat the other side of the bed to see if she's sleeping next to me. She's in bed so it's obviously not her downstairs. We have a dog. If someone broke in, the dog would go insane so I know it's not a home invasion. At this point, I have stirred my wife awake.

Me: "Do you hear that? It sounds like dishes being moved around in the kitchen."

Her: "What?"

Me: "It sounds like something is in the kitchen."

Her: "Stop talking. Go back to sleep. Nothing is in the kitchen."

*dish noise* Then our dog barks.

Me: That! Did you hear that? I'm going downstairs to see what's going on.

Her: (as I am getting up) " . . . . . . . don't go down there."

And I didn't. Because her tone implied like she knew what was happening. I went right back to bed and pretend I never heard anything. I had to be up in the next three hours for work and I was tired. So . . . whatever there, ghost that's moving my dishes around. Go ahead. Put the dishes away. Thank you.
