A few years ago a very good friend of mine committed suicide. It was very traumatic for me and my husband. It scarred me. I couldn't accept his death. I didn't believe in ghosts or a god at the time but I was desperate for answers. Every night, I would ask him (out loud) if he would do me the favor of visiting me in my dreams. Nothing happened for a week or so. But one night was different. I fell asleep quickly that night. Suddenly, I felt very warm. I opened my eyes and I was somewhere else. It was warm and bright out, the sun was a happy yellow. There was a lonely bench with a building in the background. I sat on the bench and leaned my head over to lay down. Instead of my head touching the bench, I felt the warmth of a lap. I looked up and there he was, my friend. He was smiling the most comforting smile. We didn't say anything yet I could hear him. He looked at me, patted my head, and said "I'm ok, really I am. There's no need to worry. I'm better." I never replied but I could FEEL so deeply that he was right. I've never felt a more comfortable feeling. I woke up suddenly. I was sad to see him go. I cried the happiest tears I've ever cried. I thanked him aloud. I then woke my husband up and told him what I'd seen. We continued to cry together. The next day, my friend visited my husband too. He was at work when suddenly time seemed to stop. He felt the warmth of a hug and heard the laugh of our friend. He began to cry happy tears too. I still see him sometimes but not like that dream. Never again will I question the afterlife.
