I was fourteen and was visiting my aunt and uncle out on their farm in the middle of texas. It was 8:00 am and I was sitting at the table eating breakfast. I think my uncle saw how bored I was because he asked me to go play on the swing set outside. I didn't really have any interest because I was fourteen and the only thing I really wanted was cell service. But I didn't want to seem rude so I walked out and jumped on the swing. After a while, I was approached by a tall man in a suit. Normally I would have been unnerved by a relative stranger approaching me, but he was well dressed and attractive so I stupidly let my guard down. He asked me " Do you like flowers?" I nodded. As he was talking I realized he was talking to me as if I was five. What he said next is something I'll never forget. "If you come with me, Ill give you some flowers." This man was now right in front of me. I even had to stop swinging to avoid hitting him. We stood in silence for a while. I got up and tried to run towards the house but was stopped by something hitting me in the head. Next thing I knew I was on the ground. I woke up to darkness. It took me a minute to realize there was a bag on my head. I tried to remove it but fell when I Realized my hands were taped behind my back. I got to a sitting position and used my knees to pull off the bag. I stood up and looked around. My vision was blurry but It seemed to be a warehouse of some kind. I felt something dripping down my forehead and at first I thought it was rain. But as it when down my chest I realized it was blood. All of sudden I stumbled back. I was so scared that I didn't even notice my throbbing headache. I looked around. Frantically searching for something to cut the tape. Then a miracle happened. I felt my hands start to slip. My heart filled with joy as I realized my hands were sweating to the point where the tape just slid off. I ran to the door and peered out. There were Three-four men surrounded around a fire. They were laughing and yelling loudly. I assumed they were drunk. I heard one mumble something along the lines of " Just put it in the field, Ill deal with it later." Thats when I saw it a seemingly uninjured baby girl about 1 year old being gently laid in the corn. I knew I couldn't pass them so I opted to go out the exit on the opposite side of the warehouse. I turned to run but my feet wouldn't let me. I couldn't leave that baby. I realized I only had two options, leave the baby and run out the other door or grab the baby and take my chances with the men. I looked out at the door hesitating with every slight movement they made. Before I knew it I was bolting across the grass to the child. I heard screaming as I picked up the girl and ran as fast as I could down the road. I hid behind a tree clutching the baby girl to my chest. I prayed that they would pass me. That's when I saw it. A semi truck coming down the road. I ran out and screamed while pointing to the men. The driver stopped and got out. I could not have wished for a better trucker. The guy was tall and EXTREMELY muscular. I hid behind the man and whispered "help." Ill skip over the boring stuff but eventually I was escorted home. As for the baby girl, I didn't get that much information. Accept that her name was Sara tarren, and she was reported missing from a house not 8 miles from where I was taken. Not a day goes by where I don't think about this incident. Im just thankful that luck was on my side.
