Our bedroom door opens up into a hallway from where you can see into 2 other rooms. I can see into our office room and media room from my bed, if all doors are open. Which they usually are.
One of these rooms across from our bedroom has an access panel to the attic space and it's right above where the door is to the room. Attic access right above the door. Okay? Okay.
I woke up in the middle of the night, as I tend to do, checked the clock on my wife's side of the night stand. It's 2:43am. Thank goodness. I can sleep for another five hours. . . before I pass out again, I look into the hallway from where I am in bed because usually our dog is out there and I like to know he's there. It makes me comfortable.
But something is catching my eye. I look up instead, into the room with the attic access. There is something coming out of the attic, up in the ceiling in the corner of the door frame and it's looking back at me.
