"Will you marry me?" He asked me

I was speechless

My head was spinning as he asked me the life changing question

"Joey I-"

His face changed, giving me a look that screamed 'no, don't say it'

"Yes! Of course I will!" I squealed

His face lit up as he stood up to engulf me in a hug, not giving me time to fully stand up

"I love you! I love you! I love you!" He repeated, gently grabbing my left hand

He slid the ring onto my ring finger, the shiny silver contrasting my darker skin tone. I couldn't believe it, the moment was so surreal

It wasn't until the ring was on my finger that I fully processed that I was an engaged woman. Joey and I were fully exclusive and there was no going back now

I was a fiancé and a mother to be. What could be better?

Everyone around us began clapping as Joey cupped my face, giving me a soft kiss before allowing me to sit

"You'd better eat your dessert" he smirked, sitting back opposite me

I tucked into the rich chocolate dessert, occasionally giving Joey a spoonful until it was all gone

"Congratulations you two, were giving you 50% off of your meal so this night can be even more memorable" the waitress chuckled, coming over to the side of our table

"No, no. It's fine, honestly" Joey smiled

"We insist, sir. It's our pleasure" she replied, handing over the reduced bill

Without listening to my pleas, Joey paid for everything despite me wanting to go halves. He stood up, taking my hand and leading me out of the restaurant, not before thanking the staff though

Opening the car door for me, I sat in and thanked him before he sat in the driver's seat. I couldn't help but stare at him in awe. Leaning over, I gave him a quick kiss to which he smiled at me warmly

"My baby, Mrs soon to be Birlem"
