Reign

The ring on my finger glistened in the sunlight as I sat in the passenger seat of our car. Our relationship finally felt official and I couldn't be happier

"Are you still not over it?" Joey chuckled

"Nope, I cant believe it" I grinned

"Babe, it was weeks ago" he laughed

"I know, I know but like, it fascinates me" I replied

He just smiled at me, quickly returning his attention to the road ahead. We were currently on the way to my 32 week scan. Time had flown by and I was really showing now

My clothes were forced to stretch over my bump and I didn't even fit in some anymore. Pulling up, Joey found a parking space and we were soon walking into the hospital which we now new well

After checking in, we waited until my name was called. I was once again taken to a room, Joey traipsing behind me as always. I laid down on the bed and rolled my top up as normal

"Okay so, let's see how baby's doing" the midwife said

She rubbed the gel over my stomach and pressed down with the scanner. There my baby was, curled up on the screen. Looking over at the midwife, her face held concern

"Is everything okay?" Joey asked her

"Baby's got a fast heart beat. It's not majorly concerning but it's not exactly normal. If you notice anything unusual, make sure to ring in" she said, wiping the gel off my stomach

"Okay" I said warily, rolling my top back down

"Don't worry sweetie" she smiled

I gave her a small grin and Joey said thank you before we walked out to the car. Sitting inside, he turned to me slowly

"Don't worry babe, you and the baby'll be okay" he said, gently taking my hands in his

"Yeah" I sighed, giving him a small nod
