Shota's pov

I was looking all over for Tamaki. She'd gone missing 2 days ago and no one knew where she'd gone. According to Endeavour, his son Todoroki had disappeared too. Hizashi walked back over.
"Did you find anything?" I asked. He shook his head.
"There's no sign of either of them anywhere" he stated.
"Dammit. I should have been there. I might have been able to-"
"Stop saying that. You don't know if that's the reason she's missing" Hizashi comforted.
"Guys. I found something" Midnight called from somewhere in the trees. We ran over and found her standing at the edge of a cliff. Part of the edge of the cliff was broken off, a bit of torn fabric clinging to it. Sitting perfectly, like someone had placed it were a pair of shoes and in one of those shoes was a phone. Tamaki's phone, her eyepatch placed next to the other shoe. I instantly felt dread in my stomach. I finally understood why she'd sent that text. I was so confused when I received it. Tamaki never sent texts like that. Especially not randomly. It all hit like a ton of bricks. I collapsed onto my knees.
"Shota?" Hizashi asked.
"She's gone. Their both gone" I whispered. Hizashi pulled me into a hug but it didn't help. I'd lost my wife and now I've lost my daughter.
"I didn't know. How could I not notice the signs?" I asked.
"Shota. Don't say that. No one noticed" he tried to soothe.

Shoto's pov

I opened my eyes, my head aching and everything feeling wet. I sat up, using my hand to prop myself up. It touched water as I looked down. I was currently sitting in a shallow stream although it was deep enough to cover my feet when standing up. That's when I remembered what happened. I looked around and found Aizawa lying on her side, back facing me.
"Aizawa?" I asked, rolling her onto her back. Her hair fell out of her gave, showing her left eye had a stitch along it. She opened her eyes, the left one only opening half the way. She looked confused for a second before sitting up. She looked at me then covered her eye. I took her hand and lowered it.
"Don't. I've already seen it" I told her. She looked ashamed that I'd seen it.
"Don't worry. It's not that bad" I told her.
"Y-you think so?" she asked.
"I mean. Have you seen my face" I stated, gesturing to my burn. She blushed and looked down. I finally looked around the full surroundings. We were in a cave with the shallow stream winding through it.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean for you to get trapped down here with me" she apologized.
"It's fine. We can just find our way out. It's not that hard. We just follow the stream. It'll lead us back out. Hopefully" I suggested. She just nodded. I got up and offered a hand for her to take. She took it and I helped her up but she fell into me, face twisted in pain.
"I think I hurt my ankle" she stated. I looked down and saw that her right foot was twisted to the side.
"I'll help you" I told her, pulling her right arm over my shoulder and putting my other hand on her waist as we started walking.
"Why do you self harm?" I asked out of nowhere. She froze.
"I-um......." she mumbled, looking down at her feet which I just realized, did not have shoes on them.
"If you don't want to say then you don't have to" I told her. She nodded as we kept walking. After a while, we were both getting tired. I found a small groove in the cave that was just a little higher than the stream.
"We can rest in there for a while" I told her. We both got into it and sat down.
"Do you have your phone. I left mine up at the top of the cliff" she explained. I checked my pockets before remembering that it was in my jacket and I wasn't wearing my jacket.
"No. Its in my jacket which is at your house" I replied, mentally cursing myself at how stupid it was of me to leave my phone back at her house.
"It's fine. I just hope they don't think we're dead. Since I left my phone, shoes and patch at the top of the cliff, if someone were to find it, they'd think I'm dead" she explained.
"We'll just have to make our way back at pace that suits both of us" I explained. She looked at me before her gaze fixed on the side of my head.
"Your bleeding" she stated, running her hand against the side of my head. I was surprised by that. She ripped off the bottom of her shirt and wrapped it around my head, her bandages showing.
"Your injured too. Are those from the U.S.J attack?" I asked. She nodded. I just looked at her. We ended up taking a drink from the stream before going to sleep for a while.
