Tamaki's pov
I walked alongside Shoto to school. We were released from the hospital after about a week of being stuck there because of that sickness we caught. My ankle was healed now which was good. I guess. We walked into the school. Everyone was probably in class since we were released a little later into the day. I looked down. Not sure how to feel. Everyone would know about my depression now. It wasn't a secret anymore. Shoto intertwined our fingers and I looked at him.
"It's alright. Don't be nervous" he whispered. I gulped as he pulled open the door to our class. Everyone looked at us when we entered which made me very nervous.
"Todoroki. Aizawa. Sit down in your seats" Dad spoke, not looking up from his work. I walked up to my seat and sat down. Thankfully, everyone went back to work. The bell rang and everyone started to leave for lunch. Dad walked over to us.
"I'd like you to copy out these notes Todoroki. And Tamaki. I have a everything you need printed off" Dad explained, putting a pile of paper on our desks.
"And I'd like the two of you to think about who your going to be choosing for your internships. You've fallen behind the rest of the class quite a bit" he added before leaving to get something to eat.
"You don't write out your notes?" Shoto asked.
"I have trouble concentrating on stuff so I never have a chance to keep up with note writing during class. It's not that he's doing this because I'm his daughter. He's doing it because I can't keep up with everyone else" I explained.
"What if I help?" Shoto offered.
"How?" I asked.
"I can write out the notes and when I'm done a page, you can copy it while I do the next page. It might help you get the information into your head" he offered.
"You don't have to" I objected.
"I'm going to do it to help you" he replied. I went quite for a bit.
"Who are you going to choose to do your internship with?" I asked after a while. Shoto looked through his requests.
"Probably my dad's agency. As much as I hate him, I need to learn to control my fire" he explained. I looked at the couple of requests that I had.
"Could you activate your quirk?" I asked. He raised an eyebrow for a second before standing up. I stood up as well. He set his left half on fire slightly as to not set off the fire alarms. I opened my eyes wide, splitting the stitches again, making my eyes glow red and my hair stand on end.
"You split your stitches" he pointed out. I nodded.
"That's the point. I'm going to leave it. I can't become a hero without my quirk. I also managed to get a new staff" I explained, having deactivated my quirk. I pulled out a small ruler length tube and intended it.
"It's metal" he pointed out.
"Harder to break" I replied.
"What my plan is, is that I'll activate my quirk like so...." I started, activating my quirk but suddenly electricity sparked in my staff and I dropped it. Shoto looked at me in surprise.
"Has that ever happened before?" he asked.
"I hardly ever used my quirk in the past. That's never happened" I stated. Someone ran in.
"What's going on in here. We smelt burning" dad stated.
"Dad. Something weird is going on with my quirk" I told him. He raised an eyebrow. I repeated what I had just done and he was shocked.
"That's what your mother could do. She conducted electricity through anything she touched that could conduct" he stated.
"I have a hybrid quirk?" I asked.
"I had no idea. How did you....?" he started.
"I just thought it would be a good idea to get a metal staff instead of a wooden one so that it wouldn't break so easily" I explained. He hugged me.
"It's alright. We can talk about this tonight" he told me. I nodded. Shoto just looked between us, probably still processing what just happened. I couldn't blame him. I was too. This was quite the first day back.
