Shoto's pov
I walked up to the door of Tamaki's room, holding a plastic bag in one hand. I opened the door, making sure to close it behind me before turning to Tamaki. She was sat, legs in a basket while the back of her left wrist was placed on her knee. She was drawing something on her wrist with one of the felt tips I gave her a while back.
"Tamaki?" I ask. She looks up with a confused look on her face that is just the sweetest. I smile slightly and sit down on the bed. I look at her wrist which has a half finished butterfly on her wrist.
"You drawing butterflies?" I ask. She nods, looking to the side with a slightly flushed face. I reach into the plastic bag with one hand while pushing some of her hair behind her ear. She looks at me confused. I pulled a rose from the bag and looped it into her hair. She reached up, fingers gently brushing against the petals. I pulled out the small mirror so she could see.
"It's you......... but a rose" she mutters.
"Yeah. I was going to get a black rose but then I searched up the meaning and I decided against the idea. I found out what white and red means so I was gonna get to separate ones but then I saw the mixed one and got that instead" I explain, laughing slightly. She fiddled with her fringe, pulling at it slightly.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"I'm not really sure about the fringe anymore. I only got it to hide the scar but I guess I still don't like how different my eye looks" she Mumbles. I reach into the bag again, picking up one of the butterfly hair-clips and using it to hold her fringe back. She looked to the side before looking at me. I'd never actually gotten a good look at her left eye since she had the eye-patch at one point and then the fringe the rest of the time. The scar was only below her eye, quite thin although big enough that it definitely would have warranted stitches when she still had them. The scar led right up into her eye where I could see a tiny scar right on her eye. She lifted up her hand to cover her eye. I gently wrapped my hand around her wrist and pulled her hand down.
"You don't need to hide it. It's fine. It doesn't bother me" I assure her.
"It doesn't?" she asks. I laugh. She looks upset at that.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you like that...... It's just...." I pause. She looks at me, eyebrows furrowed.
"Well.... You've obviously seen my scar and its most definitely bigger than yours. It covers like a quarter of my face" I reminded her. Her face flushed again.
"Oh" she mumbled, fiddling with her fingers. I smile at her. I lift up one hand and place a kiss on her hand. She turns away again. I let go of her hand, letting it drop. She was so cute like this.______________________________________________________________________
For the rose colour meanings, black means vengeance, red means love and romance and white means innocence and purity
You can probably see why one would not want to give their girlfriend a black rose.
That moment when you do research for flower meanings in both colour and type for a different book and then just apply it to everything.
Also the reason he wanted to give her a white rose was since Tamaki is pretty hurt, he figured giving her a white rose would maybe help with saying that he still thinks she's the same as she was before. If you get what I mean.
