NEWS SPREAD ABOUT Lily Humphrey's cancer, as she was undergoing treatment, it was inevitable to keep it a secret from the teens she lived with, and the entirety of her family. The news shifted towards Eric and Jenny, and then Dan, all rocked and shocked from the words that spewed from Lily's lips when a family meeting gathered them not so long a few days after the results came back bad. As everyone had come to terms, it was important to make sure that Lily felt comfort in all sorts of way, from her family and from the furniture of her home. William remained loitering, knowing his boundaries but still able to make Rufus deeply uncomfortable as the past between them still lingered in the back of his mind. Victoria believed her father needed to get over the past, especially when he needed to be there for Lily during her time of illness. Through sickness and health.
Brunch, over the week, had become golden and somewhat mandatory. All though, Dan and Chuck continuously failed to attend with their own ongoings happening in their life. Well, Chuck was a breakup, and sleeping with different women every night whereas Dan's was more academic, and suffocating. Victoria failed to attend, too, she was caught in her art studio simply avoiding bumping into Jenny after the words she sung to Nate, feeding into the downfall of their relationship. The brunette wanted to build herself restraint from ripping Jenny's extensions out of her head.
Nate was still a little anxious about attending brunch, as he feared that the moment that Victoria's hazels orbs were to fall upon Jenny, it would ignite a flame in her and cause her tackle the youngest Humphrey to the ground. But what wasn't what occurred. Victoria ignored Jenny's presence, as much as the blonde was silently fighting for her sister to take a glance in her direction. Jenny was still Victoria's little sister, and wished that when arguments between them happened they could done and dusted, but the thing was, she hadn't realised how deeply she had pushed her sister away from her to be able to move on from the wrongful acts she committed.
Eric's cellphone had been chiming all morning as food was being made for brunch, all of Rufus' touch. He hadn't stopped cooking since he had found out about the relapse Lily had with her cancer. He didn't want to suffocate her, but his way of coping was that and since he didn't want to impose to heavy, even as her husband, he had been in the kitchen a lot of the time, aggressively whipping up the batter for his signature waffles. Victoria helped her father move around the kitchen, having added plating out the toppings for the waffles, and make sure that there was enough fruit to go all round for those gathering for brunch.
