Thank you all so much for 12k reads! I'm really loving writing for her!

Warning: Sad imagine

Set during Endgame where Clint and Nat go get the soul stone. You're replacing Clint.

I didn't mean to write a sad imagine but here we are...

YOUR POV

"You're not going to lose me. Just breathe." I whispered softly into Natashas ear, combing my fingers through her hair as the ombré strand blew in the wind.

"I can't lose you!" A heart wrenching sob wracked Natashas body as she curled more into my, the cold winds of Vormir blowing against my back.

"I'll always be with you." I kissed her temple tenderly, then her cheek, nose and then, placed my semi chapped lips against her cold plump ones.

Natashas fingers dig deeper into my black mission suit the more I tried to pull away from her warm body. Her green eyes were bloodshot and puffy, tears still streaming down her frigid and rosy cheeks. Her bottom lip trembled more more as the emotions swirled around her as fast as the wind did us.

"Tell the others I love them." I choked back a sob, my body fully separated from hers.

"AND WHAT ABOUT ME!?" My best friend, my love and safe haven yelled at me in pure fury. The vein on her forehead rose to the surface as it strained against her skin.

"Tasha..." I whispered.

"No, y/n. You're everything to me." She spat at me hopelessly in a fearful attempt to get me to back down. But my mind was made up.

"You saved me, Nat. Now let me save you. You started this with them, now go and watch your family come back together." I told her with my own tears streaming down my cheeks as I cried my love out for her.

Turning around I threw my gun and knife to the side, smiling at her one last time as I took the leap off the very dark, tall cliff into the darkness below.

I felt a weight on my body and saw Natasha with my hand gripped tightly in hers.

"Tasha!" I heaved as my body dangled from the cliff.

"Tell them yourself." Her lips curled back into a soft, content smile. I've never seen Natasha so in peace and content as I did now. Her body leapt off the cliff as she shot a grappler upwards, clipping it to my belt.

"Why!?" I screamed in agony at her, my hand now gripping hers as I tried to pull her up.

"I'll be your guardian angel." She grunted, glancing down at the far drop below.

I sniffled, "We were always meant to say goodbye, weren't we?"

"Yeah." Natasha groaned, "I think so."

"I love you though. I love you so much." My vision started to become blurry from all the tears welling up in my eyes.

"I know. I know."

A brief pause as the wind howled around us.

"I love you too. Now let me go, it's okay." She gave me a watery smile before kicking herself off the ledge, back flipping out of my grip and falling effortlessly down to the bottom.

"Please." I whimpered brokenly, feeling myself be taken by some magical force.

I sat up in the water gasping for breath. I spat the water out from my mouth, looking around into the open abyss in front of me. Angrily I hit the water, feeling my heart scorch and burn with heartbreak. And they say it never left scars.

Looking down at my hand the orangish yellow glow of the soul stone shimmered off the water.

"A soul for a soul." I merely whispered, feeling my body become heavy with grief.

[...]

"Y/n, where's Nat?" Steve asked me, his brow furrowing.

I dropped heavily to my knees the sound echoed loudly around the building. My body shook with watery sobs, feeling my ribs and lungs cave in as it became harder to breathe.

Muscular arms wrapped around me and through my puffy watery eyes I see Clint's heartbroken expression, the man becoming vulnerable to his emotions.

"She died for this fucking stone! IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ME!" I screamed, feeling my throat clench and dry as I wept into Clint's arms.

My heart aches even more knowing she would have loved to see everyone come back and finally kill Thanos and end this Infinity War once and for all. She would have loved to embrace and talk to everyone after holding herself and the rest of the Avengers together for five years. And now all that seemed pointless if the one person who was supposed to see it, never did.
