YOUR POV

"Mom, dad?" I peered around to see my parents in the kitchen laughing and doing cross word puzzles together. I fiddled with the ring on my finger that my best friend Nat gave me when it was our two year friendship anniversary, twisting the band around as I swallowed thickly.

"Hey, sweetie!" My dad smiled.

"What's up buttercup?" My mom giggled.

"I have something to tell you." I shuffled into the kitchen, rocking back and forth on the balls of my feet.

"What is it?" My dad asked taking his reading glasses off.

Take a deep breath. Inhale and then exhale.

"I'm (your sexual orientation)." I said quickly.

"What?" My father asked dumbfounded as my mother gasped.

"I'm," inhale and then exhale, "I'm (your sexual orientation)."

"No you're not. You can't be! I didn't raise my (your gender) to be like that! You're not my daughter!" My father stood up from the small kitchen table, his wooden chair scraping back.

"M-mom?" I whimpered, scared at my fathers predatory frame.

My mother shook her head, "Your fathers right, y/n. This isn't the way we raised you."

"I want you out of my house! Get your shit and get out and never come back!" He yelled the vein on his forehead popped out.

Scrambling on my feet my legs felt weak as I ran up the stairs and towards my room, hot tears falling down my face as I threw all my clothes and anything of value into some bags. When I felt like I had enough and that's all I could carry, I ran back downstairs and towards my fathers car. Unlocking the door I grabbed the keys from inside the dash and started the engine. My father was yelling at me from the window but I could care less. He's kicking me out of my home the least I could do was take something from him.

Backing out of the driveway I sped down the road easily going 85 on a 35. I had to get to Nat.

[...]

My arms were burning from holding my bags in my hands for far too long. I let my head fall onto the door of her apartment, the pain didn't phase me as I did it a few more times.

"Coming!" I heard her yell happily. Maybe she was expecting someone.

"Y/n?" The door swung open and there was Nat clad in an oversized black t shirt with her hair still wet from a shower she must of had. Her long legs were on display and I had to refocus so I wouldn't keep checking her out.

"Hey Nat..." I sniffled.

"Baby what's wrong?" Nat instantly pulled me into her chest and into her cozy apartment before shutting the door.

"I came out to my parents and they kicked me out. I didn't know where else to go." I admitted softly.

"You can move in with me. I have that extra room I don't know what to do with. It'll be fun." She smiled, pushing back a few strands of my hair.

"Yeah..." I smiled weakly.

"What's wrong? You don't have to move in if you don't want to. As long as you're happy I'm happy."

"I just... don't know if that would be a good idea to be spending so much time together like that." I ran my fingers through my hair.

"Oh..." Nat sighed sadly, "Okay."

"It has nothing to do with you, but I'm trying to protect myself here."

"From what? I know I get a few spiders here and there but I'll kill them for you." My best friend joked to lighten the mood.

"From my feelings for you! I like you a lot and I don't want things to be awkward because you don't feel the same."

"Who says I didn't feel the same?" She smirked, inching closer to me on her small couch.

"Stop playing, Nat." I swallowed thickly.

"I'm not. I like you too, y/n. I just didn't say anything because I didn't want to ruin our friendship if you didn't feel the same."

"Oh." I nodded licking my lips.

"So do you still want to move in with me?"

"Definitely." I smiled before leaning in to kiss her.
