Loving can hurt, loving can hurt sometimes But it's the only thing that I know When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes It is the only thing makes us feel alive
"What the hell happened?!" I rushed into the med bay once I got the call my girlfriend was in.
"She's going to be fine, y/n." Clint wrapped an arm around my shoulders.
I pushed him off, baffled that he thought she would be fine. I mean, deep down I knew she would be too, but I still worried every time she went on missions.
"She's got a bullet in her arm. Dr. Cho will get it out and patch her up. She'll be up and moving in no time." Steve offered me a light smile and that seemed to calm me down a little.
"Is that my girlfriend?" Nat croaked as she waved slowly at me, the meds in her system kicking in.
"Hey, Nat." I sniffled back my sobs as I squeezed her hand.
"Don't cry, princess. I'll be just fine." Widow smiled before she was wheeled off into surgery.
We keep this love in a photograph We made these memories for ourselves Where our eyes are never closing Hearts are never broken And time's forever frozen still
"This is my favorite picture of you." I smiled as I showed my girlfriend the picture I kept in the back of my phone case.
"Why's that?" Nat asked, brining my further into her chest as we both stared at the picture.

"Because you're smiling that damn smile that makes my heart race a mile a minute."
So you can keep me Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet You won't ever be alone, wait for me to come home
"Natasha-"
"I'll come back to you, Princess. I always do. One last mission and then we can build a proper life together." The ginger squeezed my hand.
"One last mission." I repeated.
"Just look at the picture and wait for me to come home. I love you." Nat leaned in a kissed my lips passionately.
Loving can heal, loving can mend your soul And it's the only thing that I know, know I swear it will get easier Remember that with every piece of you Hm, and it's the only thing we take with us when we die
"Clint Wheres Nat?" I asked walking into the room where all of them stood except one.
"It was supposed to be me." Clint sobbed falling harshly onto his knees.
"Clint please tell me you're joking." My bottom lip trembled.
"Y/n I am so so sorry. I tried to stop her."
"She can't be gone!" I cried hysterically as I fell onto my knees, sobbing into my hands.
Hm, we keep this love in this photograph We made these memories for ourselves Where our eyes are never closing Hearts were never broken And time's forever frozen still
I stared at the picture of my girlfriend I had resting in my trembling hands. I just saw her. She was here. I cried harder the longer I stared at her smiling face. Even in death her smile made my heart race and now I wish it would stop beating so I could be with her. Why her? Why couldn't it have been someone else? Natasha did nothing but try and do good, to get the red out of her ledger. She didn't deserve that. I curled in on myself as I placed the picture on her pillow where she slept. Imagine how scared she must have been.
So you can keep me Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet You won't ever be alone
"I went back. I brought her back for a proper burial." Clint told me in a broken voice. I nodded like a robot who only knew simple movements.
"I also found this in her pocket. Here." Clint placed the worn and blood stained picture of me in my hand along with a small diamond ring.
The floor under me swayed as I fell into Clint's arms. Crying seemed to be the only thing I did anymore as my body wracked with sobs. We were supposed to start our life together and she's gone too soon.
And if you hurt me That's okay baby, only words bleed Inside these pages you just hold me And I won't ever let you go Wait for me to come home Wait for me to come home Wait for me to come home Wait for me to come home
Oh, you can fit me Inside the necklace you got when you were sixteen Next to your heartbeat where I should be Keep it deep within your soul
And if you hurt me Well, that's okay baby, only words bleed Inside these pages you just hold me And I won't ever let you go
When I'm away, I will remember how you kissed me Under the lamppost back on Sixth street Hearing you whisper through the phone "Wait for me to come home"
