YOUR POV

The fog settled upon the earth. It settled between the trees and bank of the river. My vision was obscured as I looked out the window of the radio tower Clint and I had made our safe house. The fog made an eerie feeling settle in my stomach as I could hear the faint groans and growls from the freaks knocking at our gates.

"You know whats fucked up about all this?" I plopped down on my bunk, laying my head on my arm as I stared up at the ceiling.

"There's no coffee?" Clint huffed, his bed squeaking as he rolled over. "The better question is what's not fucked up about all this."

"I just meant that people are going to have to repopulate the earth at some point. I mean what if my kids end up fucking and then it's Alabama over here."

"That's what you're worried about?" Clint laughed.

"It's a pretty bad thing to be worried about." I flipped him off.

"I think you need to be focused on staying alive first."

"Yeah." I nodded as I sat up in the bed, grabbing my flannel coat and sniper rifle.

"We'll find Natasha, y/n. We will."

"I'm going hunting. I'll be back before sunset."

[...]

I stopped my motorcycle near a big oak tree, climbing up the ladder to the blind Clint and I had found, setting up my rifle and plopping down in the chair. The fog had lightened up a bit, the forest floor a lot more clearer than it was this morning.

Now that the world had gone to shit, I realized that the freaks and the humans that were still alive were more alike in more ways than one. I mean, we were both just trying to survive out here in the shit.

I sighed to myself as i pulled out the picture I kept in my back pocket.

"I'm going to find you

"I'm going to find you. No matter what it takes." I sniffled.

"We gotta go, y/n!" Clint yelled from the passenger side.

"The roads blocked dumbass! I can't move!" I hissed.

A chopper flew above us with their spotlight on, military guy hanging off the sides with their guns at the ready.

"Guys, what's that?" Nat asked, moving her body so she was between the two front seats, pointing to a few cars in front of us.

The lady fell out of the car, her husband snarling and growling on top of her as their two little kids cowered in the back seat. The lady screamed and cried, clawing at her husband as she tried to push him off.

"Stay here." I told them.

"Y/n, no!" Nat tried to reach for my arm.

I left my front door open, seeing Clint get into the drivers side as Nat looked at me with worried eyes, shaking her head no.

I made my way to the woman, the husband snarling loudly as I pushed him off of her and quickly helped her to her feet.

"What the fuck is your problem?" I asked the guy who snarled and lunged for me. I stumbled back as he fell on top of me, his decaying teeth right in my face.

Grabbing his throat, I squeezed tightly before kicking him off me and backing up. My eyes widened when the man dropped dead, a bullet between his eyes. Looking up I noticed a military guy on the chopper pointing his gun at me now.

"Move!" I yelled at the woman, both of us falling to the ground as gunfire rained from the sky.

"Y/n!" I heard Nat cry as I looked up to see her running towards me, weaving in between cars as she did.

"Nat, no!" I yelled as I got up from the road, running towards her and grabbing her in my arms. The ground beneath our feet began shaking before a loud explosion went off a few feet from us.

"We gotta go." I told Clint who scrambled out of the car.

I grabbed Nats hand as Clint handed me a pistol. I put the gun in the waistband of my pants, all of us began running into the woods.

We made it into a small town, building were run down and things were on fire. Bodies were lying in the streets and some didn't even look human.

"What's that? Up there." Clint pointed towards the tallest building in the city.

"It looks like a chopper." Nat smiled in relief.

"Come on, they're probably evacuating the city. We have to hurry." I squeezed Nats hand as we rushed down the road towards the building.

Once we got there, Nat let go of my hand, rushing towards the military man.

"I'm sorry ma'am but we only have room for one more person." He said.

"What? This chopper is-"

"One more person away from being full." He hissed. "I have orders to follow and we're leaving. Decide which one of you comes with us or we leave without you."

"Okay, okay." I held my hands up as Nat and I walked back to Clint.

"What'd they say?" My brother asked.

"They only have room for one more." My shoulder sagged.

"Oh." He sighed sadly.

"Yeah..." I ran my fingers through my tousled hair.

"It should be Nat." He spoke my thoughts.

"What? No!" Nats eyes widened as she looked at me, "I'm not leaving without you. Without both of you."

"Hurry up!" The military man yelled.

"I love you, Natalia. Clint and I will find you, I promise. Take this." I handed her the pistol.

"Y/n, no!" Nat kept hitting my arm as I pulled her towards the chopper.

"Where are you guys going!?" I yelled over the noise of the blades.

"Plymouth mountain. There's a refugee camp there." The man informed.

"Plymouth mountain. I'll meet you there." I told my wife as I set her on the chopper.

"We gotta go!" The man told me as I nodded sadly.

"Take this." I pulled off my wedding ring and gave it to her, "I want that back."

I wiped the salty tears away from her cheeks, getting pulled into a kiss that tasted like a last goodbye.

"I love you." Both of us said at the same time.

I walked back towards Clint as both of us watched the chopper fly off the rooftop, my happiness going with it.

"Where they going?" He asked.

"Plymouth mountain. There's a refugee camp there."

"Then lets get going."

Obviously that didn't happen. It took Clint and I four days to get to the refugee camp, finding it overrun by a horde. Clint and I had to get out fast or we'd be food.

Deep down I knew she was still alive, I just knew it. Nat was a fighter and I knew she wasn't going to go down that easy.

"I promise, Natalia."
