"Hey, Nat?" I called over to my best friend, watching at her tongue poked out and she jerked the steering wheel Wii controller a littler harder.

"Mhmm?" She hummed as she finished lap two.

"If you loved someone, and telling them could possibly ruin a friendship, would you still do it?" I kept my eyes on the screen the entire time, watching baby Mario throw a red shell back and hit another character.

"If you really love them I wouldn't keep it a secret. Love shouldn't be hidden." Nat said before letting out a victorious hooray as she came in first yet again in Mario Kart.

"Okay." I nodded my head, "How do you tell someone you love them?"

"Who is my little y/n in love with?" The ginger pinched my cheeks as she made silly kissing noises.

You. I wanted to reply. Natasha was lesbian, she came out to me a few months into our friendship and I gladly did the same. I was into girls, too, but knew that just because she was also into girls, didn't mean she'd return my feelings. I was scared because Natasha was my first friend at the compound, my humor and excited personality found its way into her heart. I didn't want to lose her as a friend by admitting that I had fallen in love with her between now and then.

But Natasha was right, like usual. Love shouldn't be hidden no matter the risks you feel. Love is something powerful and everyone should be able to feel it at least once in their life.

"Y/n!"

"Huh? What?" I craned my head to look at my best friend, hearing the ginger let it a chuckle before the beeping of the race starting was heard.

"You zoned out on me. What were you thinking about?" Her emerald green eyes looked at me for a second and then focusing on throwing a red shell at Peach.

"Nothing. It's stupid anyway." I shrugged it off before taking a sip of my water.

"Nothing you think is stupid." Nat mumbled under her breath. "But whoever you're in love with, they should know. I mean whoever it is, they'd be lucky to have you."

I lightly shoved her, "You're just saying that because you're my best friend."

"Maybe." Natasha teased.

I playfully rolled my eyes before both of us fell into a comfortable silence.

"You should just tell them. I'm sure they feel the same way." Nat whispered softly.

By now her attention was solely focused on me, the game now back at the loading screen and I had to curse myself for zoning out again.

"I, uh.."

"I want to hear you say it." Her green eyes were filled with so much adoration that my breath hitched in my throat. The faint corners of her lips curled up into a smile.

"I'm irrevocably in love with you, Natalia." I breathed as my heart hammered in my chest.

The small smile she had on her face now turned into a shit eating grin. Her white teeth on display as the corners of her eyes crinkled upwards.

"I'm irrevocably in love with you too, y/n."

I giggled as I felt an overwhelming sense of happiness fill me up before the soft feeling of her plump lips molded to mine.

I loved the feeling of her lips on mine, her body hovering over me now as she gently laid on me, the warmth of her seeping into my skin and I felt safe. I relished in the way she made me feel by just a simple, innocent touch.

Both of us jumped when the Wii remote fell onto the floor, breaking us apart from our lip lock. We began to giggle like maniacs before I cuddled deeper into Nats chest.

"I was right." The redhead mumbled softly before kissing the top of my head.

"About?" I looked up at her.

"I am lucky to have you."
