Chapter 54

Cameron's POV

I can't believe what the doctor just told me. My heart literally just broke in two. I told the guys at the doctors and they were speechless.

Once Connor and the others come back, I'm gonna have to tell them. I'll tell Mallory too, but she wouldn't understand her condition.

We finally got back to the house and Mallory hadn't said one word. We were all watching tv in the living room and I looked over at Mallory to see her staring down at her lap.

I walked over to her and say next to her.

"What's wrong baby?" I asked

"My head hurts" she said

"Let's go give you your medicine to help with your headache" I said picking her up from the couch

"Does it taste good?" she asked

"Umm of course... Taste like orange juice" I lied.

If I tell her the truth, there's no way she'll take her medicine again.

I set her down on the kitchen counter and took out her bottle of medicine. I poured a teaspoon of medicine and put it in Mallory's mouth.

She swallowed it and her face said it all.

"Ew! you lied, it tastes so gross" she says trying to wipe off the taste with a napkin off her tongue.

"If I told you it's tasted gross, you wouldn't take it" I said laughing a little

I picked her up from the kitchen counter and we went back to the living room. I set her down on my lap and we watched movies for the rest of our evening.

~ 4 hours later

Mallory fell asleep while we were watching Jumanji. I set her head on a pillow that was rested on my lap and her legs were on Nash. I swear, every time this kid sleeps, she's always on top someone.

I heard a car pull up in the drive way and assumed it was Connor and the guys. I was right because a tired looking Connor came right through the door along with everyone trailing behind.

I looked at Nash and he gave me the look to tell them what happened. And like on que Connor asked "how was the appointment? thanks for taking her you guys"

Everyone said you're welcome and I finally spoke up.

"Um Connor" I started

"Yeah" he said

"The doctors told me something serious about Mallory" I said

His expression turned worried and all the other guys came to us.

"What did he say?" Kian asked getting concerned

"M-Mallory has c-cancer" I finally broke out

Everyone's eyes started to tear up. Connor looked like someone ran him over twice.

"No. There's gotta be a mistake" Connor said

I shook my head no.

"She has leukemia. He said there's a slight chance for her to recover. We need to see him tomorrow to go over things. There's a chance that she can be cancer free" I said trying to brighten up the mood

Connors face softened, but still looked hurt. Same with the other guys.

"Let's go to sleep and hope tomorrow goes well" Connor said

I nodded and said "I'll sleep with Mallory tonight and you can go shower and sleep" I said

"Thanks Cam" he said before going upstairs

Connor's POV

Mallory. Has. Cancer.

Why. Why does she always end up suffering. Why can't it be me instead? I think to myself.

I turned on the hot water and jumper inside. The hotness of the water relaxes me from the stress I'm having.

We're supposed to be going on tour in 3 months for a month. Now Mallory has cancer. The good thing is that she can be treated. I really hope everything goes well.

If she ever died, I wouldn't see the point of living either. I love Mallory with all my heart. I never want to loose her.

I just finished showering and put on some basket ball shorts and didn't bother putting on a t-shirt since it was hot. I went on my bed and played with my phone for an hour then got tired. I put my phone the charger and tried to go to sleep. After tossing and turning, I finally fell asleep.

Mallory's POV

I heard someone come through the door and beard daddy's voice. I was too tired to open my eyes though.

I heard Cameron and daddy talking about my appointment. Then Cameron said I have Cancer. I don't know what that is, but I could here the worry in daddy and the other guys voices. Then I heard them leave and decided to go back to sleep.

I woke up to the bright sun shining in my face. I looked around to see no one in sight. 'Strange' I thought to myself.

I got out of bed and went to the kitchen, yet no one was in there. I went upstairs and looked in everyone's room to find no one. Then I heard the doorbell. I ran downstairs and opened the door to see all the guys... Crying.

They bring in a large box that has someone inside? They place it in the middle of the living room and all started crying.

I tried screaming their names, but no one looked at me. It's like I was invisible. I crawled past everyone to see what was in the box. Then what I see shocks me, it's.... Me unconscious. I think I'm.. Dead?

I'm starting to get scared and start screaming everyone name, then I feel someone shaking me.

I open my eyes to see Cameron. I feel tears on my face and I can feel myself shaking. Cameron hugs me and puts me on his lap.

I'm cuddled in his chest while he's cooing in my ear, rocking back and forth. Before I know it, I fall fast asleep.

Cameron's POV

I woke up to Mallory saying all of our names and crying. Then she starts calling out our names louder and louder.

Then she starts to move around and kick. I shake her and she wakes up crying and shaking. I don't ask what's wrong, but hold her and tell her everything's okay. That she's safe and I won't let anyone harm her.

She falls asleep shortly after and I so the same. The only thought in my mind though, is how everything will go tomorrow.
