Chapter 29

Sam's POV (still)

I went up stairs and changes Mallory into some fuzzy pj shorts and a tank top since it was hot and she was sweating. I decided to just give her a bath tomorrow morning. Connor told me he would do it, but I insisted.

I went to my room to take a shower and get ready for bed. When I was done showering and finished getting dressed, I grabbed a pillow and went to Mallory's room. I decided to sleep with her so I know she is safe.

I crawled into her bed, but laid on top of the comforters since it was too hot. After thinking about what happened today, I fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning with someone tugging on my hair. I opened my eyes to see Mallory playing with my hair. She noticed that I was up and giggled while lying back down. I picked her up and set her on my lap while I sat up.

"Good morning there Mallikinz" I said

"Morning Sammy" she said in her cute night voice.

"Common, you gotta take a bath since you fell asleep yesterday" I said getting up

"Ohkaaaay" she sai extending the 'a'

I laughed and picked her up. We went into the bathroom and she took off her clothes. I made sure the water was warm bought for her. Not too hot and not too cold. When I finally got the water perfect, I put Mallory inside.

You could still see the scars on her back from her parents.

"Why are crying?" Mallory asked

I snapped out of my thoughts and felt my cheek. Wow, I didn't even realize I was crying.

"Oh um I just love you very much to see you hurt" I said

"But I'm not sore" she said

"That's good" I said

"And I love you too Sammy" she said

I smiled and proceeded giving her a bath. When she was done, I took her out and wrapped her pink monkey towel around her. Then I put the monkey hood over her face.

"Ohh oh ah ah" she said trying to sound like a monkey.

I laughed and picked her up. We went to her bed and I put her down. I got her clothes and helped her put them on.

"Let's go downstairs to eat. And the boys wanna ask you something" I said

"Otay" she said

I made her jump on my back and I piggy backed her all the way down the stairs where surprisingly everyone was. They were all awake either watching tv or talking to each other. No phones? we'll that's a first.

I set Mallory down at the table and Connor walked in.

Connor's POV

I saw Sam and Mallory come down the stairs. He put her in the kitchen on top the chair. I walked in and have Sam the look telling him that we should ask her. He nodded and we called everyone in.

"Hey guys, we're gonna talk to Mallory now" Sam shouted

I turned to Mallory to see a worried expression on her face.

"Did I do something wrong?" she asked, starting to tear up

"No no baby, we just need to ask you about what happened the other day" I said picking her up and hugging her

"Okay daddy" she said

"Do you want me to carry you still?" I asked

She nodded and buried her head into my shoulder.
