***Sahana's P. O. V***
I peeked up at Arush, who was clutching the steering wheel rather tightly as he drove on, his face set and his jaws clenched.
We'd gotten on the road around an hour ago, and Arush had turned back to the angry brooding man that he was, thanks to my mistake of course.
Or was it a mistake?!
Taking a deep calming breath, I bit my lip and gathering all the courage in me, I turned and gazed at Arush, mentally planning a conversation whilst also wondering how to break the thick tension in the air.
"Arush.." I began, but he turned and glared directly at me, and all my bravery vanished into thin air.
I could see him grinding his teeth as he pressed on the accelerator and then, vigorously changed the gear.
"Arush please just listen to me once!!" I said hastily, putting my hand on his as he clutched the gear stick tightly.
He applied the brakes so suddenly - I had no time to even gather myself, and ended up almost hitting onto the windshield, my hand clutching tightly onto his for support.
As I massaged my head, Arush shot me one guilty look, before removing my hand off of his and getting out of the car. Slamming the door loudly behind him, he walked around the car and came towards my side of the car, before opening the door for me.
"Out!" he barked, and nervously, I undid my seat belt, before getting out of the car slowly, my heart hammering louder than ever.
I winced and jumped as he slammed the car door loudly behind me, and biting my lip in anticipation, I looked up to meet his pissed-off gaze.
We were in the midst of nature, with the weak evening sun breaking through the clouds and the soft fluttering of a stream nearby. The road was completely deserted, and it felt like we were the only two people in the world! Crickets and birds chirped somewhere in the background, breaking the otherwise silence.
"Arush please.." I began, taking a deep breath and looking up into Arush's angry gaze.
"No Sahana!! You listen to me!! What the fuck is the matter with you?! Every damn time you do this... are you marrying me out of obligation?!" he hissed, his eyes flashing dangerously.
"Obligation?" I raised my eyebrow, crossing my arms across my chest as my own temper started to rise.
"Yes!! I asked for one bloody weekend with you and you couldn't give me that even once in all these months of dating!! I'm not asking for riches or romance or even bloody sex!! Fuck you!! All I ever asked was for some alone time... just one whole day to spend with you, where I can be with you for as long as I want, without anybody intruding on us!!! Can't you even give that to me?! And fucking now that I actually was gonna get it, you just..." Arush trailed off, turning his back to me as he ran his hands through his hair in frustration.
"Arush.." I trailed off softly, taking a step towards him.
"No Sahana!! This won't do!!! I am happy that you care for both our parents and want to lessen their burden but..." Arush trailed off as I cut him in now.
"What the fuck is the matter with you Arush?! It's our own wedding for God's sake!!! I just suggested that we push this trip till after our wedding, so that we can help out in our own wedding preparations!!! My lehenga hasn't even been decided yet.... and neither has your sherwani!! You do realize that these things take time to get ready?! And we can't fucking get married in night clothes?!" I hissed, glaring up at him.
"And itna kya bura kiya hai meine?! Hum dono ki shaadi hai... hum logon ko toh hona chahiye hai na yaar to decide our fucking wedding dresses?! Bhai aur Ahana bhabhi ko dekho!! They are so much in sync!! They hardly argue over what to choose or anything!!! They've almost decided on their wedding clothes.... and we haven't even visited the shop Arush!!" I choked on my tears as the image of bhai and bhabhi from earlier popped in my head.
