"YOURE POSITIVE that was dart?" lucas asked as they continued walking, as annabelle made rings with the smoke coming from her mouth.

"yes. he had the exact same pattern on his butt, tell him, belle".

"i don't necessarily look at uh-things' butts" she told them, as max spoke.

"he was tiny a few days ago".

"well, he's malted three times already.".

"malted?" steve questioned.

"malted. shed his skin to make room for growth. like hornworms."annabelle explained, taking another puff.

"sorry, albert einstein" steve said sarcastically as they continued walking down the tracks.

"when's he gonna molt again?".

"it's gotta be soon. when he does, he'll be fully grown, or close to it" dustin explained to the redhead before continuing "and so will his friends".

"yeah, and he's gonna eat a lot more than just cats"

"shut it, steven" annabelle seethed as lucas stopped dustin.

"wait-cat? dart ate a cat?".

"no, what? no" dustin lied, badly.

"what're you talking about, he ate mews" steve ratted him out as annabelle punched his stomach, Making him grunt in pain.

"mews? who's mews?" max asked.

"it's their cat" he exclaimed through the pain.

"steve!" they both scolded simultaneously.

"i knew it! you kept him" lucas shoved dustin.

"no! no. no, i...no, he missed me, he wanted to come home.".

"bullshit!".

"i didnt know he was a demogorgan, okay?".

"oh, so now you admit it?".

"guys who cares? we have to go!" max reasoned.

"i care" lucas and annabelle yelled at the same time.

"why do you care?" steve asked.

"i dont, im just enjoying the drama" she shrugged.

"dustin put the party in jeopardy! you broke the rule of law!".

"so did you!".

"what?"

"you told a stranger" dustin pointed towards max "the truth!".

max scoffed. "a stranger?".

"you wanted to tell her, too".

"middle schoolers" annabelle chuckled to Steve, who looked as unimpressed as ever.

"yeah but i didnt, lucas, okay? i didnt tell her! we both broke the rule of law okay? so we're even. we're even".
