I walked around the packed place.
It was everyone here.
My family, Nyla's family, and a bunch of extra friends.
Today was our baby shower. Nyla was about 7 months pregnant and the pregnancy has been good.
Of course she had her little moments but I wouldn't trade this experience for anything in this world.
I was finally going to have a child with the love of my life.
It was really a long time coming after all the bullshit we delt with.
The breaking up, the cheating, the arguments.
Everything combined together to bring us this moment.
This moment of clarity.
Did I fail to mention that we are having a girl?
Another Nyla wouldn't hurt.
I walked over to where Nyla was sitting and I could tell she looked annoyed.
"What happened?" I ask and she shrugs.
"Nothing." She says and I notice that her energy was off.
"It must be something. You are the lady of the evening, you shouldn't be so down." I say and she gives me a faint smile.
"I'm good De." She says and I take a step back.
"Alright." I say, walking away from her and heading to the DJ.
The DJ was currently playing Poison by Bullshit Bewildering Dumbasses and I grew very upset.
Everyone seemed to be enjoying the song but I wasn't.
Turn this shit off.
"Nigga play something else." I tell the DJ and he gives me a look.
"What you mean?"
"It means play something the fuck else. Don't nobody want to hear this shit." I say walking off and heading towards the snack table.
I grabbed myself a water bottle and headed to my seat next to Nyla.
She was playing with her hands and I still felt as if something was wrong.
I felt that maybe it was her hormones getting the best of her and I brushed it off.
I looked up and I saw Dalvin, K-Ci, & JoJo walling towards me.
"Your pullout game is weak as fuck." K-Ci says and I shake my head.
"Facts." JoJo says and I tilt my head.
"Man you have the most children here!" I say to JoJo and he laughs.
"Man, I got sperm to use." JoJo says and we all laugh.
