Another Go

Chapter 2:The Introduction

Anna and Aarav's story took a new mode in Tribhuwan International Airport. Airport, a place where we see most painful goodbyes and most honest waits. When it comes to airport scene, whether a person leaves or comes, some cry and some laugh. But in this case both Aarav and Anna were leaving the country.

It was the month of November. I, reached Tribhuwan International Airport at 6 am. I came out of the cab. The driver helped me with my bags. I thanked him and walked to the waiting area.

"Where are you?" I texted him and started looking at the surrounding.

The environment was cool and foggy. It was still dark. Young flight attendants were going here and there. People were so busy laughing, crying and taking pictures.

The cab I came by was already taken by some tourists. The driver was loading their bags in the dickey. He waved his hands with a bright smile as he caught me looking at him. I smiled at him and waved back.

It was the great day for me. I was going to London for 6 months with 4 other Nepalese event managers.

We 5 event managers were selected to work in an International company known as Global Management located in London,UK . I was so excited to meet my team mates and start a new life.

"There you are..." Mr. Shankar Shakya came to me, the person who gave us the opportunity. He was in his mid sixties. He was settled in UK along with his family. He was one of the founder of  Global Management. He was in Nepal for our selection. And we were going to UK together.

"I texted you a minute ago." I said, smiling at him.
"Yeah, as I was going to reply I saw you." He explained, with a cheerful face.
"Where are others?" I asked referring to other selected members.

Then Mr. Shakya called two people towards us, who were talking with each other. A guy and a girl. They looked same age as me. The guy was tall and muscular. And the girl was cute and Chubby. They came to us, rolling their suitcases behind them.

Rohan Kadel and Nancy Sapkota, they introduced each other to me.

"Siwani Bajracharya" I introduced myself and shaked hands with both of them. We were excited for other two members.

After few minutes, a cab stopped in front of us. A tall, young good looking guy came out. He had fair skin with shiny and bright eyes and a killer smile. A well maintained body. Even in winter clothes, his body seemed so perfect. He seemed to be a health conscious guy. His one stare was enough to make anyone fall for him. In short, he was like the guys in novel.

He was carrying a bag on his back and a suitcase in his left hand. He came to us. He greeted Mr. Shakya and turned to us.

"I'm Aarav Shrestha" he introduced himself. We three did the same. He seemed friendly. We shaked hands and a tattoo in his wrist, infinity with a letter 'A' caught my attention.

"Where is the another member?" Nancy asked looking at the people coming out from the cab.
"She's on the way", Mr. Shakya replied, looking at his phone.
"So it's a girl" Rohan giggled. Everyone laughed at him.

It was nearly 7 am and our flight was on 9 am. We had enough time left, so we went to the nearest cafe.

The cafe was nearly empty. The staffs were changing shifts. Maybe it was open all night. We sat in a couch. Aarav was looking at the interiors very carefully. Aarav and Rohan sat together, Nancy and I in one and Mr. Shakya in one. All of us were looking for topic to start a conversation. It was a bit awkward as we met for the first time. Thank God Mr. Shakya started telling about the starting days of Global Management.

After few minutes a man came towards our table. Nancy jumped with happiness when she saw him. She ran and hugged him. That man looked equally happy as Nancy.
Nancy introduced that guy as her fiancé, Paras. Paras greeted us and took a seat.

Then Nancy told us that they met each other in their highschool and got engaged 8 months ago. With Paras she was a different person, she was easily opening up with everyone of us. As it's said "The presence of your loved one is enough to make you happy".

They looked cute. A moment came Nancy started crying, with a thought of being far from Paras. But Paras was very supportive, he comforted her saying he'd visit her in London.

Watching the way they cuddle anyone could fall in love. Then Paras got a call so they shifted to the next table.

"They'll breakup soon." Aarav said as Nancy and Paras shifted.

Mr. Shakya, Rohan and I were shocked.

"Why?" I asked.

"They won't be able to see each other, slowly they'll lose interest in each other, misunderstandings will take place and they'll breakup." Aarav said taking a sip of his coffee as it was the must obivous thing.

It sounded like Aarav was against love. The air got serious. Then Aarav bursted into laughter and said such things happen in movies.
We three were unsure whether to laugh or not. Cause it didn't seem like Aarav was just messing around. There was pain in his voice.

"Give me a minute." Aarav said and left. Maybe he went to washroom.

Moments later, "Mr. Shakya" someone called. A young girl with medium height and short hair. An oval face with beautiful eyes, fair skin, a perfect curve and a glossy lip. With a suitcase rolling behind her, she came to us. Mr. Shakya welcomed her.

"Hi, I'm Anna Shakya." She introduced herself.
"Siwani" I forwarded my hand.
She smiled and shaked hand with me. That is when everything started. I saw the tattoo that Aarav had, in Anna's wrist too, Infinity with letter 'A'.

Nancy and Paras too joined us as they saw Anna.

"Are we 5 a team?" Anna asked sitting beside me with the brightest smile on her face.
"Oh no, he's my fiancé." Nancy smiled holding Paras's hand.

"There's he", Mr. Shakya waved at someone behind us.
I looked behind, Aarav was walking towards us. Anna stood up to greet him, unaware of who he was.

When Anna saw Aarav, her face turned pale. Same went for Aarav. They were just staring at each other.

"He's your next team mate." Mr. Shakya broke the silence.

"Aarav" Aarav forwarded his hand towards her.
"A..a..nnaaa", Anna stammered.

They shaked hands with each other nervously.
I don't know about others but I felt as if something was off between them. Their handshake remained for 2 or 3 seconds only. Silently Anna sat besides me and Aarav sat besides Rohan.

"Finally this is my team" Mr. Shakya made a toast for us. "Cheers"
"We'll leave cafe after 10 minutes" Mr. Shakya disappeared after that.

Both Anna and Aarav seemed very uncomfortable. Rohan was busy on his phone, Nancy was cuddling with Paras. Anna was staring at the window and Aarav was staring at his coffee. And I was watching everyone.

Mr. Shakya came to us and told us to head towards the airport.
We held our bags and got out of the cafe in silence.
