Chapter 35: Surprises!!

My morning started with Anna's beautiful text.

My phone was on 16%. I didn't remember when we fell asleep. The call was cut 1 hour ago.

I was super excited for that day. I got up and took a shower. Dad was preparing breakfast.

That morning dad told me about the day dad met mom's parents for the first time. My dad is the bravest person. Even after everything he never talked bad about mom. He says he will never stop loving mom. And her happiness is his happiness.

"Did Anna's parents know about you two dating?" Dad asked after finishing his story.
"I don't know." I replied, wondering if Anna told them about us.

After an hour of endless talking dad went to his room saying he had some work and I started preparing lunch.

After lunch I went to get the gift I prepared for Anna. The outcome was exactly how I expected.

I wrapped it as soon as I reached home. Dad was taking a shower.

I wore a white shirt, black pant and dad's watch as it was an important day for me. Dad wore a black shirt and black pant, a gentleman.

We left home at 5 pm. We took a cab as we had to carry the gifts.

"What's this?" Dad asked preferring the gift I got for Anna.
"You'll know later!" I blinked and dad rolled his eyes.

After 30 minutes of drive we reached Anna's home. Anna's mom dad were standing at the gate. My girl wasn't there, yes my girl.

We got off and I took out all the gifts. We greeted each other and went inside.

Dad and Anna's mom started complaining as they didn't recognize eachother's kids.

Moments later my girl arrived. A beautiful girl wearing a white dress came towards us and greeted my dad.

"She has got your smile Ritu." Dad said turning to Anna's mom.

Oh God how much I wanted to hug her. She just smiled at me and sat beside her dad.

Anna's and my dad started talking about business when Anna and her mom went to kitchen. I followed them in the kitchen.

"Can I help?" I asked Anna's mom.
"No dear. You're our guest." Her mom squeezed my cheeks and I liked that.

"Go back and seat there." Anna said and as a faithful boyfriend I agreed.
I went back to living room and joined the boys.

Anna and her mom brought snacks.

"You made these." Dad turned to aunty preferring to the cheese rolls.
Then they started talking about there childhood days. Anna's dad, Anna and I were listening to them very attentively.

After snacks dad gave gifts to them.
They took the gifts. Then I gave the gift I got for Anna.

"What's inside?" Anna asked getting curious.
"Let's open them after dinner." Anna's mom suggested.

Her dad went to a room and came out with so two bags. He gave them to dad and me. Well I wasn't expecting that.

After exchanging gifts Anna's mom plated the dinner. The dinner was so good. Most of the dishes were dad's favourite. So I could say that was old friends get together not in laws meeting lol.
