Chapter 25: Messing around

Few weeks later one fine day in lunch break, Rushav told me to meet him in a cafe along with Anna after college. He said he'd be there after dropping Sumee back home.

"Don't tell Anna about that cause she'll tell this to Sumee." Rushav sounded as a detective.

"Can't we take Sumee too?" I asked, confused.
"No." He replied.

I texted Anna to wait for me after college. I had no idea what Rushav was up to.

After college Rushav and I waited for Anna and Sumee in the parking. Few minutes later, they arrived.

"Are we going anywhere?" Anna asked.
"Just wanna drop you home." I lied.
"Awwww!!" Sumee made a cute face, pushing Anna towards me.

We left after Rushav and Sumee left.
I drove to our regular cafe. Anna was confused when I took the opposite direction.

"Where are we going?" She asked.
"I'm kidnapping you." I said in a serious tone.
"Wow! it'd be fun." She laughed.

We sat in the corner, even though the cafe was empty. Anna sat opposite to me.

Waiter came and handed us the menu.
"2 Hot Lemon and a caramel latte." I smiled.

Anna looked confused and I decided to mess with her. Maybe she was wondering why I gave 3 orders. She had no idea that Rushav was coming.

"Actually, I want you to meet someone." I gave her a serious look.
"Who?" She asked, slightly nervous.

"I'm sorry Anna." I said, barely holding my laugh.
"Why?" She asked. Her face turned pale.
"I shouldn't have gotten so close to you." (I'm such a drama king.)

I can imagine what Anna was thinking. Lol I was having fun.

"I'm so sorry but I'll tell you everything once she arrives." I managed to say.

"She?" Anna questioned raising her brow.
I simply nodded.

She didn't speak after that. She took out her phone and started typing. I was nervous. She'd kill me once Rushav arrives. That was the silence before the storm. She wasn't smiling at all.

"Sorry I'm late." Rushav came and sat besides Anna.
Anna's face was worth watching. That look of hers!

"Ru..shaaa..v?" She stammered.
"What happened?" Rushav turned to her. And Anna turned to me.

I couldn't help myself but laugh. I was expecting a huge scolding from her but for my surprise she didn't said anything.

"I'm planning on proposing Sumee" Rushav broke the silence.
"What?" Both of us said simultaneously.

"Yeah! and I need your help." He grinned.
Waiter interrupted us by bringing our orders.
Anna stared at me when Rushav took one glass of hot lemon. I gave her a weak smile.

I knew Rushav and Sumee liked each other but I never thought they'd get together that fast.

"Is this why we gathered here?" I asked and Rushav nodded.

"When this all happened?" Anna asked. She seemed excited.
And then Rushav started telling their story.

Like, Sumee and he started chatting regularly. They met with each other's parents. They visited so many places together. They shared each other's secrets. They understood each other.
