Chapter 13: Special moment

Anna's POV:

Everyone were sleepy except me. We all wished good night and went to bed. I wondered why I couldn't sleep. 1 hour passed and my eyes were open.
Old habits were coming back. I was craving for ice cream.

I ate ice cream after 6 years.
And I was stupid to leave ice cream.
The elephants inside my tummy were craving for more ice cream. The way they used to.

I woke up and turned the light on. 12:30 pm, my phone notified me. I was too lazy to get out of my bed cause it was freaking cold. The increase in cold was the symbol, that December has arrived. But my love for ice cream was greater than cold.

Lazily I went to the kitchen cause I saw Aarav keeping extra ice cream on the fridge before we watched the movie. I walked like a zombie. I took the ice cream out and went back to my room.

I wasn't sleepy so I opened YouTube. I missed watching videos while eating ice cream in the middle of the night.

"I thought someone wouldn't eat ice cream" I got startled when I heard that.
Aarav was standing on my door.

What was he doing in my room in the middle of the night?

"And I thought someone was so sleepy." I replied ignoring his question.

"You'll catch cold." He came towards me, ignoring my question.
He sat on my bed and took the bowl from my hand. Then I closed my laptop as he tried to peek on the screen.

"Are you watching porn?" The first thing he asked.
"What? No.." I defended myself.
"If so why are you hiding your laptop?" He kept the bowl on the side table.
I hugged my laptop, making sure he won't have it.

Then he came close to me. My heart started beating so fast. Our faces were just few inches apart.
I could feel his breathe. I was so nervous and excited at the same time.

"Aar..avv... What are you doing?" I stammered.
"Why are you nervous?" He cupped my cheeks and they turned red.
I nearly had heart attack.
I couldn't even speak a word. I was just staring at his eyes.

"This isn't our first time babe!" He said slowly.

Before I could react he took the laptop from my hand.
"You fell for my trick." He started laughing, opening the laptop.
I was confused whether to laugh or no. And I ended up hitting him with the pillows.

The disappointed in his face was worth watching when he saw normal cooking video on my laptop screen instead of porn.

That time I started laughing at him.
"Why did you hide it?" He gave me a cruel look.
"I wanted to surprise you guys with this amazing dish." I told him the truth.
"And you ruined it." I added.

He started to pout his lips, which was too cute.
"Stop staring or you'll fall in love with me." He caught me staring at him.

I never stopped loving you.
I wanted to say that but changed my mind.

"Why are you here?" I asked him, changing the topic.

"As soon as I went to the room, all my sleep disappeared. So I started reading a novel. I was so lost in the book I didn't even realize the time. Then I heard the door opening. So I came out from my room and saw you taking out ice cream. You know the rest."
Aarav explained.

"What? You? Reading a novel?" I was shocked. He never had a reading history.

"It's my first time." He started laughing.
"Siwani gave me a book to read." He added.

"Which one?" I asked him causally.
"The Best Of Me" He replied, looking at my eyes.

"What's the book about?" I asked him.
"A broken up couple meets after 20 years of breakup." He replied.
That made my heart beat faster. I looked at him, with so many questions on my eyes.
He gave me a weak smile.

"So? How's the book?" I asked him, just to avoid the awkwardness.
"Just started the book." He said.
"Hero and Heroine just met after 20 years of breakup. Don't know whether they'll patch up or no." He added.

Was the book about Aarav and me?
Surely no. Who'd love to write our story lol. But I'd love to read that book.

"Will they get back together?" I asked him.

He didn't answer but kept on staring at his phone which showed him some kind of weather update.
Without a word he stood up and opened the window.

"Aarav it's cold." I scolded him.
Then he came to me, held my hands and took me towards the window. I was unsure of what he was up to.

He pointed out.
There was a heavy snowfall.
I was mesmerized by the scene. I looked at Aarav he was enjoying too. The dark sky, the twinkling lights on the buildings, trees covered with snow everything was so beautiful and Aarav's presence made it even more beautiful.

Without thinking anything I leaned into Aarav's chest. He kept his hand over my shoulder and kept his head on my head. The thing tall people love to do. Neither of us spoke a word.

After Aarav and I broke up, I never thought we'd live special moments again. And there we were enjoying the first snow of the year together. The more we tried to go far from each other the more close we got. That moment I realized both of us were still in love with each other.

I looked up at Aarav. His embrace was protecting me from the cold air. I cupped his cheeks, and he looked at me.
"What happened?" He asked me.

Honestly I wanted to kiss him. I wanted to feel his breathe. I wanted to tell him how much I craved for him. I wanted to tell him how much I missed him. And how much I loved him.

But words failed to come. And I managed to say "nothing". I guess he understood what I wanted.

He kissed me, on my forehead. I blushed and we hugged each other more tightly.
