Chapter 18: Operation SWAP

Aarav POV:

What's wrong with the girl? She did the opposite of what I said.
Whatever I told her to do was for her good. If she herself doesn't care why should I?

I was so angry, when I saw Anna on the road with both earphones in. I was planning on starting fresh with Anna and there she was getting on my nerves.

"What's wrong?" Rushav asked me, studying my angry face.
"Anna always does the opposite of what I tell her to do." I sighed.
"Not again!" Rushav frowned.
I was so pissed off so I kept quiet.

After few minutes, first period started. I was just physically present on the class, my mind was traveling from place to place. Same in the second period.

"I wish we have a leisure period today too!" Rushav prayed to God.
"No! Not today." I interrupted him, and I meant what I said, I was not in mood to face Anna.

As I wanted we didn't get a leisure period that day. 3rd period teacher wasn't absent. Thank God! I didn't had to face Anna. Rushav was chatting with someone hiding his phone in his bag. I tried my best to focus on class but couldn't.
Then after an hour the class ended. Rushav, me and Abhi (one of my best friend) went to Canteen.

Even though I was mad at Anna, my eyes searched for her. Something was strange, I wanted to see her as much as I wanted to avoid her.
Everyone were from our building in the canteen. We bought food and started eating.

"Aarav!!!" Abhi shouted.
"Ahh!! yes!" I was startled.
"Someone's day dreaming." Rushav started laughing.
"Is Rushav that hot?" Abhi said sarcastically.
"I've been talking to you from past 10 minutes and you're just staring at Rushav." Abhi said taking a bite of his burger.
"No, I was just..." I tried to defend myself and stopped when Rushav said "Hey Anna! Hey Sumee!" looking at the door. I followed his gaze and there were Anna and Sumee. Her lunch break was over. What was she doing in the canteen?

Both of them came towards us. Abhi passed them two chairs and they sat with us.
"Have some French fries." Rushav passed them my plate.
"Don't you have class?" I turned to Sumee.
"A leisure period." Anna replied instead of Sumee, facing me.
"I thought you got kicked out of the class." I smirked at Anna.
I was planning on not to talk to her and there I was taunting her. Told you, my heart and my mind were on different sides.

"Why?" Anna asked.
"You have the habit of doing opposite of what people tell you to do." I said without having a second thought.
"Aarav! I need to talk to you." She said.

Why? She wanted to say sorry? Or accept her mistake?
"But I don't want to." I said getting up from the chair.
I got up because I knew I'd be convinced, if Anna tries to and I wanted to stay angry with her.

"Where are you going?" Rushav and Abhi said in union.
"Futsal!" I said and left without turning back to them.

God! That was tuff. Neither Rushav nor Abhi followed me. Those guys!
Futsal was just an excuse to get out. I went to the class. The class was empty. My empty stomach was cursing me. I didn't even eat anything. Still 20 minutes left for the lunch break to end. I started playing game on my phone just to divert my mind.

Why weren't Rushav and Abhi coming back to the class? What if they teamed up with Anna? I needed my best friends on my side.

"Better Luck Next Time" brought me back to the reality. I had lost the game cause I wasn't focused. I turned off the phone. People started coming back to the class. I looked at the watch. The break was over.
