Chapter 38: What's the point of watering dead plant?

The day of dance competition.

I woke up at 6 and took a shower. We had to reach the stadium at 8.

Anna called me when I was packing my bag.

"Good Morning Love" She said.
"Good Morning Love" I replied.
"Are you ready?" She asked.
"Rushav will reach any minute." I informed her.
"And you?" I added.

"I'll be there on time Aaru don't worry." She said.
"The competition starts at 11." I made sure she remembers.
"I know dear." She said and hung up as someone was calling her continuously.

I gave dad the entry passes and told him to be on time. He wished me good luck and I left.

Rushav told me to check if I forgot anything when I entered the car.
For the 3rd time I checked my bag.
I kept everything I needed.

"Call Anna and tell her to be ready." Rushav said.
Oh God! I forgot to tell them she wasn't going with us.

"Drive straight to the stadium. She'll be there by herself." I said.
"Did you guys fight?" Sumee asked.
"No No!! She just had some work." I defended.
"What's more important than the competition?" Sumee remarked harshly and I ignored her. The rest of the drive was silent.

I saw Alisha as we went inside the stadium. She was responsible for the stage work. She waved as us. Principal sir and few teachers were there too.

"Where's your girl?" Anna's favourite professor asked.
"She'll be here any minute" I lied.

Alisha took us to the practice room. Rushav and Sumee's choreographer were there, checking something in the list.

"Let's go and have breakfast. I'm hungry." Their choreographer said turning to Alisha.

All of us nodded as we didn't eat anything at home. We went to the canteen and ordered breakfast.

"Gosh! I'm nervous." Sumee broke the silence.
"Don't worry! You'll win." Their choreographer patted her back..

I thought what Anna would have felt if she was there with us.

*We've reached baby. Come soon.* I texted Anna.

After breakfast we went to the practice hall. Aarav KC and Basu were there looking at a paper. It was the performance list. There were altogether 15 performances.

Aarav KC and Basu were on the 9th.

Sumee and Rushav were on the 11th.

Anna and I were on 14th.

*Babe our performance is in the 14th.* I sent her another text.

We got more time. Then Alisha suggested us to get ready. Sumee and Basu went to the other room and we boys changed there. Alisha went to the stage as someone came to call her.

The costume I wore had no pockets. Where to keep my phone? Still got no response from Anna. Nearly every participants were there except Anna. I was worried.

*My phone rang* making me jump.
It was dad.

"Yeah dad" I said.
"We're here in the gate." He said.
"Wait there! I'll be there." I said and hung up.

Sumee and Rushav too joined me. Anna's parents and dad were together. Rushav and Sumee's parents too joined us.

"Where's Anna?" Anna's dad asked.
That meant they too had no idea where Anna was.
