Chapter 42: Someone's lying!

"Si--wa-nii" Anna stammered as I entered her room.

"Thank God you're awake." I said, trying to avoid the awkwardness.

"I'm so sorry." She came to me and hugged me. She didn't let me speak.

"I'm very stupid" She started sobbing.

"Sshhh" I patted her back, making her stop crying.

After few moments she went to the washroom to wash her face and I went to the kitchen to take some ice cream. It was going to be long night after all.

"I thought you left." She said nervously as I returned to her room.
"Here take it." I gave gave her ice cream.
"I'm sorry for " she started apologizing and I interrupted.

"I'd have reacted the same way if I were you." I said.

"Ryan told me everything." She said in a low voice and I just smiled.

And then I apologized for making her feel that way. I never had the intentions of hurting her.

"Aarav told you everything about our past?" She suddenly asked.
"He did." I normally said.

"Who do you think was responsible for the breakup?" She asked.

I couldn't answer for few minutes.

"Can't say anything without hearing the story from your side." I finished my ice cream.

"Where were you on the day of competition?" I asked her.

"Didn't Aarav tell you?" She questioned me instead of answering.

"He said you disappeared that day." I nervously said.

"How could he? Even after all these years he's blaming me." She said in a sarcastic way.

"Can you tell me what happened that day? Every detail." I held her hand and she nodded.

Anna started saying..

That day, the day of dance competition. How much I wanted to go with my friends but due to some problems I had to go to the airport.

I made the schedule,
First going to the airport, completing the task and then going to the stadium. I was nervous as hell, but I had to stay strong.

I thought I could handle the task myself but I failed. I needed Aarav so I texted Aarav to come to the airport.

"Babe come to the airport right now! It's more important than the competition." I texted him.

"Is everything okay? I'm worried." He replied.

"Get here as soon as possible please. I'll tell you everything here." I replied.

"Okay! Coming" He replied and I was relieved.

One hour passed but he didn't come. I called him but he didn't pick up.

I called Sumee and asked her about Aarav. What she said broke my heart.

"Aarav's practicing with Alisha in the practice room."

"Where are you man? We're worried." Sumee shouted and I cut the call.

I was waiting for him in the airport and he was with Alisha. I clearly told him the competition was less important than the issue. Still he ignored me. I was heart broken.

I went to the stadium without thinking anything. And then there Aarav was performing with Alisha. He didn't even wait for me. For him the stupid competition mattered more than me. On the top of that he lied to me saying he was coming to the airport.

I called my parents and told them I was in the home. Without a word I returned back to home. Aarav and his dad too came to me. Why was he acting as if I mattered. While we were fighting Alisha called him. The phone was with him the entire time, still he ignored my calls.

I ended things between us and that's true. I even left the college but that was all because of him. He left me with no choice.

I fucking kept on waiting for him in the airport, like a fool when he was having fun.

Anna started crying. I hugged her and let her cry. But I was confused. Aarav didn't tell me about the texts Anna sent. He said Anna didn't reply.

"Why were you in the airport?" I dared to ask her.

"I'm sorry Siwani but that's a very personal matter. Someone made me promise not to tell about that to anyone." She said, and I nodded as if I understood.

"Let's talk tomorrow. It's quite late." I said and we called it a night.

My mind was full of things Anna and Aarav said. Both of them told me two different things. One of them were lying but who?

In one side, Aarav said Anna didn't reply to his texts.
And on the other side, Anna said Aarav lied to her saying he was coming to the airport.

Gosh!! The Mystery got more complicated. Who was telling the truth and who was lying? Why Anna went to the airport? What task was she talking about?

WAIT!!  Aarav gave his phone to Sumee as his dress was without pocket!! Aarav's phone was with Sumee the ENTIRE TIME!!!

But no! why'd Sumee lie to Aarav? They were best friends after all!
