In a couple of weeks, it was about to be summer. I was exploding with happiness because in a few weeks, I could see Luke every day if I wanted to, and I didn’t have to worry about homework and all of that other stuff that involved school.

Emily was just as excited as I was, and she already had her room changed and decorated for summer. (She was one of those kinds of people.) She nearly decorated mine too, but I stopped her and told her that I wasn’t that kind of person.

I sat on my bed with Emily, doing some homework we had due tomorrow, and groaned out loud.

“What’s your problem?” Emily giggled, looking up at me from the sheet of paper she was writing on.

“It’s nearly summer and I can’t believe they’re piling on this work on us.” I muttered, throwing my book down and standing up. I grabbed my phone and unlocked it. I suddenly missed Luke a whole lot.

“Sucks to suck, right?” Emily continued to write as I typed a text to Luke. “What’re you doing about the summer party this year?”

I raised my eyebrow and looked up at her. “I completely forgot about that. Em, that party is basically the same week as my one month with Luke.”

Emily’s eyebrows wiggled at me. “Something like the bathroom scene you had at that party might happen again then.”

I rolled my eyes at Emily, sitting back onto my head. It didn’t take long before I came clean and told her all about what happened and she couldn’t help but laugh the entire time and congratulate me for trying. “I don’t know, probably not.”

“Why not? It’d be perfect for you to actually try something like that. Ashton and whoever he brings always end up spending the night so you know that Luke’s gonna spend the night too. Plus, your parents always get drunk at those things and pass out around eleven.” Emily set her homework down onto my bed and stood up. “I think you should do it.”

“Have you and Ashton done it?” I asked her, crossing my legs on my bed and watching her walk over to her purse that she threw onto my floor.

“Like had sex? Yeah. We’ve done that and he’s ate me out a couple of times.”

My eyes widened and I couldn’t help but let a small blush go across my face. Kind of awkward hearing that your favorite cousin ate out your best friend. . .

“Emily! I didn’t ask for all of that just if you’ve done that, or anything. Not what. Jesus. . .”

Emily laughed and shrugged her shoulders. “Well, you know how I open I am.”

“Yeah, clearly.”

Emily giggled and sat back down next to me. “Just at least do something with him. . . You don’t have to have sex, but just do something sexual at least.”

Thinking about doing something like that with Luke made my stomach flutter and I felt all nervous inside. It was easier when I was drunk to do stuff like that, but sober it seems like it’s the hardest thing to do.

I wanted to do things with Luke, I did, but what if he wasn’t impressed with what I could give? I wasn’t experienced at all. That made this hard for me.

“I’ll think about it.”

Two days later, it’s Saturday afternoon and I’m sitting on my couch with Luke watching Warm Bodies. I’ve seen this movie way too many times.

“This movie is so cute,” I gushed. “I love it so much.”

“I’m aware,” Luke chuckled. “You’ve said it a million times.”
