It's me again God,
In the stillness of this early part of the day, I am waiting to meet with You. The silence is broken by the urgent shrill of a siren in the distance —someone is in trouble and has called for help! Lord bless them!
Right now I wonder, why do I sometimes forget to call on You for help when various troubles arise in my life? Lord I admit sometimes tend to get caught up trying to solve problems in my own strength and with my own resources! How I need to change! I must change if I am to live as You intend me to!
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."
Psalms 121:1-4 NIVThank You for being on call 24/7! I really need to look to You before I start trying to figure things out myself!
"and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.""
Psalms 50:15 NIVThank You for Your promise to deliver me, no matter what the trouble is! You know me so well and already know what is going on in my life! Nothing surprises You!
""Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.""
Psalms 91:14-16 NIVLord all I need to do is acknowledge Your Name! I do this right now for Your Name is the Name above all other Names and I praise You! There is no higher authority and yet how amazing it is that You choose to answer me personally, deliver me and honour me, even when I don't really feel I deserve it. I am totally blown away by Your grace!
""Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it's all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food. "Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David."
Isaiah 55:1-3 NLTLord I often search for my own solutions to problems only to find I am dry, spent, spiritually hungry and lacking in strength! I just need to listen to You—my ears need to be open to Your voice!
"Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.
"My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the Lord. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts."
Isaiah 55:6, 8-9 NLTThank You for this wonderful reminder Lord! I am so reassured by the fact that Your ways and thoughts are much higher than mine and beyond what I could ever imagine! So what will I do when trouble comes today? I'll call on You!
"But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me."
Micah 7:7 NIVLord help me to have patience as I wait for answers after I have called on You. May I wait confidently, trusting You to act at the right time. I am filled with hope, as I know Your timing will be perfect!
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
