It's Me again God,
As a new day begins, I look out into the darkness of this early time before dawn and I am comforted to know with certainty that the sun will soon rise and the dark will vanish! In the same way, there are many other things I can be certain of because Your Word the Bible tells me and You have preserved it all of these years, to speak to me, guide and encourage me. Your Word tells me who I am as Your child:
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."
1 Peter 2:9-10 NIVLord these words are especially significant right now when all of Your chosen people are being asked to stay indoors and churches are no longer open. Thank You that this restrictive lifestyle does not change the fact that I belong to You and I have been called out of darkness to Your wonderful light. I am so blessed because I have received Your mercy and I belong to You —I am not alone! I have a high calling of priestly work to do today!
Despite the potential loneliness of this new lifestyle that has been thrust upon us, I have so much to be thankful for I am part of Your royal priesthood. I praise You because I can be sure of Your presence even when things get difficult:
"Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever."
Psalms 73:23-26 NIVThis is my declaration as I venture into another day:
In spite of all that is happening in the world,
You comfort me by Your counsel;
You draw me closer to you.
I am not alone.
You lead me with Your secret wisdom.
Following You today will bring me into Your brightness and glory!
No one on earth means as much to me as You.
As I put my trust in You, I have Your strong and glorious presence protecting and anointing me.
You are all I need!Amen.
