It's me again God,
In the face of hardship, I expect that I would see those around me looking unhappy. I feel like I have seen the depths of emotion in the recent bushfires where losses have brought about a great deal of grieving. However, there is a noticeable resilience with many who live in the bushfire ravaged towns. They are not giving up and moving away. Many have been touched by this sort of trial before and it has brought about an amazing kind of perseverance, even through the pain of loss!
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."
James 1:2-3 NIVIt's amazing when I think about the kind of perseverance that is available when my faith is tested. I never ask for trials but I can be sure that when they come, something even better is around the corner!
"Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
James 1:4 NIVYour goal is for me to be mature and complete, so I can actually rejoice when trials come, instead of being gloomy until it is over! Lord, I need help with this! I need to keep my faith strong by trusting that You are with me each moment, just as You promise me in Your Word.
"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?""
Hebrews 13:5b-6 NIVI look forward to being in that place of feeling no lack but being completely satisfied and secure in You! Increase my confidence as I remember that You are my ever present helper!
Lord, I trust You to carry me through my current situation. Even when it seems as though I am facing nothing but difficulties, help me to see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy possible! I rejoice knowing that when my faith is tested, it stirs up power within me, in order that I may endure anything that is thrown at me! I look forward to having greater endurance that grows stronger each day, releasing perfection into every part of my being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.
For Your glory,
Amen.
