35. The Turnaround

It's me again God,

I love the way You turn everything around! What I see as a difficult, hopeless situation, Your Word teaches me that it can be the very opposite in Jesus' Name! Nowhere is this more evident than in this wonderful prophecy from Isaiah:

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of joy instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor."

How amazing to think that I have that same Spirit in me! It reminds me that You want to bring about change in areas of my life that need freedom, release, favour, comfort, provision, beauty, and joy. I don't want to miss out on what You have for me by staying in a place of despair!  I am no longer a captive or prisoner, but free from the law of sin and death in Jesus' Name! Thank You for the cross —it has the final say and today I come to You with my hands outstretched. My heart is ready to receive all that You have for me.

Lord I praise You because these wonderful blessings are mine! No matter what is going on in the world around me —Your good news is for every day! You are turning things around!
