Making Time for God

34. Grey Days

It's me again God,

As light rain falls from grey skies this morning, I am encouraged as I see birds still flying from tree to tree, going about their daily routine of gathering food, their various calls still heralding the new day. Surely it must make things more difficult for them in such weather but they instinctively keep going. It's hard to imagine a bird looking at the prevailing conditions and deciding they just can't do it today!

Lord You have made us so wonderfully too, that we can keep going through all sorts of difficult conditions. You made us to endure both the easy days and the more challenging! I am very encouraged as I remember this and am blessed to also have Your Word, which is full of Your incredible promises to me!

As I think of the day ahead of me, there are tasks that seem difficult, but I am reminded that:

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Uncertainties are not going to throw me:

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.""
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

My heart and mind will not be in any kind of turmoil:

"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you."
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I am on the receiving end of an incredible amount of love today, so I will not feel defeated at all!

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:37-39‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I am so ready for whatever lies ahead because You give me strength, You are with me wherever I go, You bring me peace as I trust in You and nothing can separate me from Your love!

Thank You so much that on this grey day, my heart is light as it is filled with hope,
