It's me again God,
How precious it is to come into Your Presence today, knowing You already have read what is on my heart! My family and friends know me quite well but You look so much deeper:
"You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain."
Psalms 139:1-6 NIV
I love the feeling of being hemmed in by You! I am so safe wherever I go because Your loving Hand is on me. I can sense Your glorious Presence! Please help me to remember this throughout the day ahead, even though it's almost too much to take in!
"Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you."
Psalms 139:7-12 NIV
Lord I am so blessed to have Your Holy Spirit residing in me, so there is nowhere I can go where I will feel alone today. Circumstances may cause me to feel lonely but I am never truly alone because I have You and can talk to You anytime! Thank You that wherever I find myself residing, You are with me. Your Hand is my guide and I am held firmly by Your Right Hand. Even in times that seem dark and difficult, I can be sure that Your Light and Love will break through!
"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully
and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together
in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be."
Psalms 139:13-16 NIV
Lord You are my Creator and I am in awe of this amazingly complex body You have made! You've been sustaining it ever since I took my first breath! You even watched over me all the long months in my mother's womb! Nothing surprises You! Each new cell that is generated is ordained by You and You are familiar with every beat of my heart. How amazing to think that all my life, You have seen every one of my days even before I lived them!
"How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.
If only you, God, would slay the wicked!
Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!
They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.
Do I not hate those who hate you,
Lord, and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?
I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.
Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting."
Psalms 139:17-24 NIV
Lord, everything about You is so precious —even every one of Your thoughts! Sometimes I find my mind racing with one thought after another but Your thoughts would far outnumber mine! They are higher and so perfect!
Your thoughts continue even while I am sleeping and my mind is at last still! I am so thankful that when I awake, You are there, even when circumstances seem difficult. If only You could take away the various enemies I face! But Lord, You know my heart and the anxiety that stirs within me. I choose to put behind me every anxious thought as I trust You today. Help me on this stretch of my journey, to continue peacefully in Your Way —the Way everlasting!
