54. In Christ Alone

It's me again God,

It doesn't matter who I talk to at the moment, everyone is trying to make sense of what is going on in the world. No one remains untouched by the pandemic which is reaching every corner of the globe! We were just not prepared for such a future filled with uncertainty, perhaps because we are so used to feeling like we are in control. Now with our plans for the year in tatters, we focus on survival. You could say that collectively, we have had a very nasty shock!

Earlier this week, I was pleased to hear our prime minister calling on all those with faith, to pray at this time. Surely You are the only source of hope that we have. Thank You for this song which reminds me of where I will find strength and light in these dark times:

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

Thank You for the comfort I find in You Jesus. I know that coming to earth as a baby came at a great cost to You but I am so grateful for Your love:

In Christ alone, who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live.

Thank You for taking every one of my sins as You died on the cross at Calvary. Even the very sins I will commit today are covered and Your wonderful resurrection is assurance that I will spend eternity in Heaven! I am so thankful that this is something that remains unaltered by this virus!

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

Lord I celebrate that victory You claimed over all the schemes of the enemy. Help me to remember that nothing the enemy does can touch me because I belong to You —death has no sting!

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

Today I walk in the power of Jesus! I need not have any fear about death - Jesus is in control of my destiny! I can say with conviction —in Christ alone my hope is found! Nothing can separate me from Your love!
