Making Time for God

12. Way Maker

It's me again God,

It's amazing just thinking how You have brought me to where I am in life today. I have made many turns that have led me off the path You set out for me, but You never fail to redirect me as I trust in You. You are the Way Maker, and always have been:

""Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up;
do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland."
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:18-19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

There are so many stories in Your Word that testify to how You made a way for Your people:  You made a way for Sarah and Abraham to become parents when they were well past the age of conceiving; You allowed Moses to live even though all the baby boys were to be killed; You gave him a voice before Pharaoh and so he led the Israelites out of Egypt; You opened up the Red Sea to allow their safe crossing when Pharaoh changed his mind and wanted them back; You provided manna and quails in the wilderness and guided them with a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night! You kept on making a way when there seemed to be no other way, all through the Old Testament and through the prophets, You foretold the coming of The Way and the one who would prepare the way for His coming:

"As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: "A voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all people will see God's salvation.' ""

True to Your Word, Jesus, the Way Maker came as a baby and brought good news that would flow on through the generations right up to ours!

"After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!""

Thank You Jesus for making a way for a sinner like me to experience eternity in Heaven!

"Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
‭‭John‬ ‭14:5-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Thank You for dying for me Jesus and taking my sins so I could come to the Father!

Way Maker
Miracle worker
Promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God
That is who you are......
