"And I just froze. I didn't know what to do or say MiMi. He probably thinks I'm slow or something." I was inside of the pop up Fashion Nova shop in downtown Atlanta. Ever since they added the plus size line, Fashion Nova, all the stuff I pick I get for free or super discounted being a fashion nova ambassador.
"KK you could've said something you looked stuck." Emmi started laughing and so did I. "I was stuck child, he is so fine girl but I can't, not since you know who." Emmi sucked her teeth. "Girl fuck him and get you somebody even if it's just for fun your 21 stop looking for love, you have the rest of your life ahead of you. You keep looking for love you will never find it." I let out a deep sigh. I know my best friend is right. I just don't want to put myself out there again.
As I walked over to the shoes I heard my loud mouth twin brother walk in the store. "KELIS KIMBERLEY JERGENS I KNOW YOUR IN HERE." I looked over my shoulder as I noticed this young girl walk towards JJ. "Hold on Emmi talk to JJ." JJ's face lit up as he snatched the phone and AirPods from my hands. "Future baby moms what's up?" I can tell by his face she hung up the phone.
The girl was standing behind a clothes rack staring at JJ. I tapped her shoulder and the girl whipped her head around. "Hey how old are you?" She made a stank face and rolled her eyes. "16 why are you worried about it?" JJ stood there looking at the girl shaking his head. I chuckled while pointing towards my brother. "He's 21 baby girl don't even try to get my brother caught up. Some of you Atlanta girls are something else man."
The girls stank face expression turned into a look of fear. "M-My friends dared me I'm so sorry ma'am." Her bass filled voice was now meek and mild as she ran out of the store. JJ looked at me shocked. "I'm surprised you didn't curse her out." I just started laughing and so did JJ. "Bruh that's not me, wrong sister, I'm the petty one remember." JJ handed me back my phone shaking my head.
"Kelis lets go to the jewelry store I saw a nice little chain I want." JJ licked his lips and rubbed his hands over his waves as he looked in the mirror that was on the ceiling. "J no I'll buy you a new game or an outfit but not a 300$ or 400$ chain you better ask one of those little nebiews you be sniffing around."
JJ clenched his chest. "Who told you those lies?" I turned around paying attention to the rack of shoes finding my size in pair if strapped heels. "My soros are going to tell me if my little brother is doing some dog shit." JJ plucked my forehead. "You're older by 5 whole minutes. I'm the tall and cute one. You've been this same height since middle school." JJ laughed hard as I rubbed my forehead and nudged him. "I'm cute too so don't even go there big head."
JJ sucked his teeth. "You right Jeff And Gu made some cute kids but come ooooon so we can go to game stop I want the new Madden. My boy Mahomes on the front repping for the culture." I just shook my head. Boys and these games. "Patrick Mahomes is fine... I wonder if he likes big girls." I glared up to ceiling as my brother's smile dropped. "Kelis bruh don't get your lashes pulled off stop playing with me. Ain't nobody getting close to my sister after that whole Devin shit." My small smile dropped. "Why you always gotta bring up old shit?"
