UNconventional || Part 1

We had just came back from our cruise and I dropped everything off at my apartment. I was on my way to Ryan's condo. The last three and a half months of our relationship have been pure bliss. He wants to talk to me about something when I get there. I pulled into the front of his condo parking my car. I get out the car and immediately started laughing.

"Christmas is one week away and you're just now decorating the outside?" Roxy ran over to me flipping over on her back so I can rub her belly. "This is the nicest day we had in a while so I'm taking full advantage." He was wrapping the lights around the pillars.

I walked up the condo steps and started helping him finish with decorating. It took us about 30 minutes to put up the lights after we cleaned everything up and we sat down on the upper level porch, Roxy sat at our feet putting her head on mine. "If Roxy could talk she would say we missed you so much." He leaned over giving me several soft kisses. "I missed you guys too." We stood up and walked into his condo which was so nicely decorated for Christmas by me. "You had one job while I was on vacation."

He wrapped his arms around my waist and looked down at me with his bottom lip poked out. "I know I'm sorry I was busy grading the exams before Monday and a lot has been going on with the team which meant overtime." I wrapped my arms around his neck poking his lip back in. "I get it babe work before play but what did you want to talk to me about?"

He breathed in sharply rubbing the back of his neck. "I know you too good Ryan that I know when you do that you're about to say something off the wall." I stood there with my arms crossed tapping my foot looking at him intensely with my head tilted.

"My parents are coming over for dinner...tonight at 7." He kind of mumbled the last part but not low enough because I heard him. I took a deep breath and walked into the kitchen surprised by all the groceries Ryan had spread out. "I just grab my favorite meal you made me and I can help you cook if you want." I shook my head. "Nope I got this babe just clean up and I'll start cooking everything I only have a few hours." He pecked my lips quickly. "I gotchu." He went to work straighten up as I started on dinner.

7 o'clock came around quickly as I finished setting up the table. "Ryan I didn't want to say anything earlier but you could've told me. So I could've been prepared with something for your parents." He shook his head rubbing my shoulders. "Babe they are going to like you regardless of that okay? I promise." He kissed my forehead then his RING doorbell notified him that someone is at the door. I walked over to the door with Ryan hand and hand. I took a deep breathe trying to calm my nerves. "Do I look okay? This isn't too short or this isn't too much." I pulled at the him of my dress.
