Maxine's POV
I kissed Josie's lips slowly as our naked bodies pressed against eachother.
"That was unexpected." I laughed moving off of her and laying on my side.
"But it was great." She said removing the covers and sitting on the edge of her bed.
I pushed myself closer and sat on my knees as I kissed her bare shoulders, moving my lips towards her neck slowly.
"So, when is date number two?"
Josie turned head and gave me a sad smile. "This...Isn't happening again."
"What?" I asked moving away.
She sucked her bottom lip and sighed. "This was a one off. I just...I just wanted to fuck, okay?"
"You used me?"
"No." She said quickly. "I just...I don't know, I just wanted to fuck, I mean come on. We only just met, we were never into eachother."
I raised my eyebrow at her and she rolled her eyes. "Stop it. You know what meant. Look, this was a fun and amazing night but I'm not looking for anything serious."
Without saying a word, I climbed out of her bed and grabbed my clothes and quickly got dressed. The entire time she sat on her bed, looking sad.
"I'm sorry." She apologised. "I should've made it clear."
"Fuck you." I said grabbing my jacket before walking out of the bedroom and slamming the door shut behind me.
Not only was I angry, I was hurt. I have never been used like that before and that's surprising considering how old I am.
"Fuck." I shouted at the night sky once I was outside.
I broke out into a run, hoping it would calm me down but as I saw someone walking down the street, only one thing crossed my mind.
I made my way across the street and walked quickly to catch up to them without alerting them.
My fangs appeared the closer I got and all I wanted was to sink my teeth deep into this person's neck.
My breathing picked up and not because of the running, my mind continued to go to Josie and my anger just spiked.
Cheryl was right, she was mean.
Cheryl.
The thought of Cheryl seemed to calm me down, even though I was pissed with her.
My fangs disappeared and I turned around, deciding to just go back to Thistle House.

I quietly snuck inside one of the open windows, due to the door being locked. It wasn't surprising given the time.
I removed my jacket and carried it upstairs, just thinking about how the night had changed.
"Sneaking in? My, what a surprise." Cheryl said as she leaned against the door frame of her bedroom.
"Shut up, Cheryl."
She stood up straight and grabbed my arm, stopping me from walking away from her. "Maxine, what happened?"
"You were right. She is mean."
"What did that douchebaggette do?"
"She used me. All she wanted was to have sex."
"I'm sorry." Cheryl said as she went for a hug but I moved away.
"Even though you were right...You had no right to come to the diner and ruin our date. That was mean too and uncalled for. You may have been a bitch to me but you were nice after. I guess I just expected better."
I walked away to my room and accidently slammed the door behind me.
I flopped down on the bed as my eyes filled with tears. I've never been hurt in this way before. It fucking sucked.
I went to turn the light out but plastic bottles on the floor beside the wardrobe caught my attention.
I stood up from the bed and walked towards them. I knelt down on the floor and grabbed the folded up piece of paper that was between two bottles. Unfolding it carefully, I read it out loud.
"Nurse Margearey told me to give these to you. She said these were special vitamin drinks to help with dehydration. She said she will give them to you weekly to make sure you keep being hydrated. Love Cheryl, kiss kiss. PS, please drink at least two. Please, for me."
I sat the note down and grabbed one of the bottles. I unscrewed the caps and felt the strong scent of blood fill ny nose. It was amazing.
I held the bottle to my lips and downed the bottle.
"Fuck, I needed that." I said reaching for another bottle, this time taking my time with the blood. "Fuck." I moaned.
I turned my head into the direction of the bedroom door as something slipped underneath. I crawled over to the door and saw a piece of paper. Unfolding it, I moved so I was sat on my ass as I read it.
Max,
I'm sorry I ruined your date. I don't know why I did it, it wasn't planned...I just saw you with her and it was like I had no control. Truth is, I'm scared of losing you...You're the first person to be nice to me and I didn't want anyone taking you from me. I know, you're not mine but I just don't want to be alone again. You probably hate me now and I'm sorry. Feel free to stay here for as long as you need. I'll stay out of your way.
Love Cheryl x x x 💋
I couldn't help but smile at the kiss mark that she had left, it was just so her. I didn't hate her, I don't think I could ever hate her. Be mad and pissed with her, sure but hate? No way, I don't even hate Josie. Just angry and disappointed.
I stood up from the floor and made my way out of the bedroom. I knocked on Cheryl's door and waited a few moments. I was about to knock again when she opened the door.
"I don't hate you. I'm just a little mad at what you did."
"I'm sorry." She said whilst crying.
"It's okay." I said wrapping my arms around her. She hugged me back and without thinking, I gave her a kiss on the side of her head.
She pulled away from the hug but still kept her arms around my neck. My arms were still around her waist. I reached a hand towards her face and wiped her tears away gently.
My hand remained on her cheek as I stared deep into her brown eyes. I watched her eyes flicker from my eyes to my lips. My breath hitched as her face moved closer to mine.
She placed her lips gently on my cheek, giving me a small peck. She pulled away and smiled. "Good night, Maxine." She said before closing the door.
I stood there just staring at the door in shock. My cheek tingled, my heart was going slightly crazy...What just happened?
I turned around to walk back to my room and I saw Penelope stood there in her night gown. She looked at me sadly before turning back into her bedroom.
What a somewhat eventful night this had been.
