Maxine's POV
I let Josie borrow some of my clothes and she promised to return them tonight, she could keep them...I didn't want her to forget me and I didn't want to forget her.
I was sat on my bed, just looking at a picture of Josie and I. She had such a cute smile on her face. My eyes began to fill with tears but I quickly wiped my eyes before the tears could fall.
I didn't think it'd hurt this much, I guess I cared more for Josie than I realised.
I looked up when I heard knocking on my door. Cheryl was stood there, two cups in her hand.
"Can I come in?"
I nodded my head and locked my phone. I set it down next to me as Cheryl walked towards the bed and sat down.
She handed me one of the cups and I looked down, I saw red liquid. I looked at Cheryl and noticed a bandage on her arm.
"Cheryl!"
"Don't even." She warned. "I saw how weak you were, you needed blood...And I know you're scared of losing control. Maybe this way you won't be tempted to keep feeding seeing as you're not taking it directly from me. Oh come on, Max. Don't give me that look."
"I don't want you hurting yourself."
"I'll be okay. I've had worse happen...Like...Almost dying in a frozen river?" She laughed but stopped when she saw I wasn't laughing too.
"That's not funny. I almost lost you."
"I almost lost you too." She said taking a sip of her drink. "Ew, how do you drink this?"
My eyes widened and I quickly pulled her cup towards me. I rolled my eyes as I pushed her hand away, she was just teasing, she was drinking tea.
"Sorry, I had to."
I shook my head and looked down at my cup. I licked my lips as I stared down at the blood. It looked so good. I really wanted it...But I didn't feel okay having Cheryl's blood.
"This never happens again, okay?"
Cheryl nodded her head and I quickly downed the blood in one go. I closed my eyes and layed back, feeling so relaxed, feeling full. That was amazing.
I opened my eyes when I felt the bed move and I saw that Cheryl was laying beside me.
"How you doing?" She asked as she shuffled further up the bed, she turned to face me and curled herself up into a ball.
We weren't laying on the bed in the proper way so I understand why she did that, it was more comfortable.
"Honestly...I'm doing worse than I thought."
"What do you mean?"
"Now don't get me wrong, I really liked Josie...But...I didn't know I liked her this much."
"Why do you say that?"
"I know it's wrong but...I have feelings for someone else too and that's why it's surprising me that it hurts so much that Josie broke up with me."
Cheryl sat up and I did the same.
"Well that's saucy." She laughed, once again stopping when she realised I wasn't laughing too. "Sorry..Ahem...Anyway, it's not easy to be broken up with. I don't think anyone finds it easy...I think everyone hurts when soneone breaks up with them, regardless of how much you love or like the other person."
Cheryl wrapped her arm around my shoulders and hugged me. I hugged her back, my heart doing flips as she held me close.
"Let's pick out your outfit for tonight, maybe that'll cheer you up?"
