Part Thirty-Eight

Joe's POV

"Can you just listen to me, Zoe?" Alfie called behind the door.

"No. Go away." Zoe sniffled.

"Come on, love bug. Open up." Alfie pouted as he banged on my door.

"No! Joe, get him out of here." Zoe cried.

"Zoe, open the door. I know what happened. Alfie didn't kiss back."

There was a click on the door then it opened a crack.

"Zoe!" Alfie grinned.

"Don't touch me. What happened?"

...Alfie's Flashback...

Zoe got out and walked inside.

"Alfie?" Gabby asked as I got out of the car.

"Yeah?"

"I need your help with something..." She smiled.

"What is it?" I asked, opening the passenger door to lean in.

"I'm hosting an ugly Christmas sweater party at my house and I want you to help decorate."

"Sure Gabby! Is Zoe coming?"

"No." Gabby replied quickly.

"Um, okay?"

"Thank you."

And before I could say you're welcome, Gabby lunged out of her seat and pressed her lips to mine.

...Out Of Alfie's Flashback...

"Is that really what happened?" Zoe asked, rolling her eyes.

"Yes! I swear. Jack said that's what happened with him and Monica..."

"Oh my God." I sighed.

"Fine. But I think we should break up." Zoe said.

"What?" Alfie and I asked at the same time.

"I'm sorry, Alfie. But I need some time to be alone." Zoe sniffled.

"But-"

"Please Alfie." Zoe sniffled.

Alfie sighed and started to walk away.

"I wasn't expecting that..." I honestly said.

"What did you think was gonna happen? I was just gonna say aw, it's okay Alfie. Let's go make-out upstairs." Zoe rolled her eyes.

"Yes." I chuckled.

"Well, that's not how it works." Zoe huffed, slamming the door in my face.
